Are you passionate about ensuring compliance and promoting ethical business practices in a dynamic, fast-paced environment? We at Danske Bank Group Compliance are now seeking a Senior Compliance Officer to make a tangible impact across our Corporate and Institutional Banking unit!
About the role
As an important part of the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) Compliance function, your role is to act as a trusted adviser to CIB business stakeholders, promoting a strong compliance culture and ensuring adherence to laws, regulations, and ethical standards to mitigate compliance risks.
Key responsibilities
- Act as the local regulatory compliance point of contact for the Corporate and Institutional Banking (CIB) business in Finland, overseeing regulatory compliance risks and ensuring alignment with Group policies, instructions and standards.
- Provide expert advice on compliance obligations, identify and mitigate risks, and develop the annual Compliance Plan to ensure effective oversight of regulatory compliance risks.
- Partner with CIB management to identify, assess, and report regulatory compliance risks, while supporting adherence to local regulatory requirements.
Provide Subject Matter Expert (SME) input to first- and second-line risk assessments, product reviews, monitoring, control testing, and management information (MI) reporting, ensuring a robust compliance framework.
- Develop and deliver regulatory compliance training in collaboration with the Training team and SME teams within Group compliance.
Promote a strong compliance culture by role modelling the Groups core values, ensuring timely escalation and resolution of non-compliance issues, and fostering alignment with the Groups risk appetite.
About you
To succeed in this role, you are a collaborative problem-solver and a confident self-starter who thrives in complex environments. You bring resilience, curiosity, and the ability to navigate regulatory challenges with integrity and pragmatism.
In addition, you possess:
- 7+ years of experience in compliance and/or risk management from financial services or legal functions.
- A relevant higher-level education (e.g., Law, Finance, Accounting, or Economics).
Strong stakeholder management skills across organisational levels combined with a collaborative, team-player mindset.
- Proven analytical capabilities and problem-solving skills.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Finnish.
