Location: Vilnius, Lithuania

Behind every financial crime prevented, there's a model that flagged it. Join our small, dedicated team specialised in validation of models for financial crime prevention. 
We validate a wide range of models from transaction monitoring and sanctions screening to customer risk rating, fraud detection and market abuse detection built using techniques spanning rule-based systems, 
Work across the business
As a model validator, you will work across the full cycle of model validation, collaborating closely with model developers and financial crime prevention experts. You will research, analyse, and evaluate the conceptual soundness of the modelling technique, the applied mathematical methods, perform statistical/numerical test of model performance. You will assess the risk of applying these models in Danske Banks financial crime prevention processes, draw the final conclusions and defend them in front of senior stakeholders.

What you will be doing 

  • Work in project teams responsible for conducting end-to end validation of models including review model design, test effectiveness and models performance.

  • Research, analyse and evaluate modelling techniques and run statistical and numerical tests to assess model performance.

  • Build relationships across the bank with model developers and our partners in Financial Crime Compliance.

  • Write clear, well-structured validation reports.

  • Clearly present the outcome of validation orally and in writing to model developers, and senior management.

  • Engage in discussion with model owners of mitigating actions to observations found.

  • Continuously develop your skills and competencies within financial crime prevention, modelling methods and validation practices.

  • Share your knowledge, findings and insights with colleagues.

  • Assist in other model areas and in staying at the forefront of validation of new modelling areas, such as machine learning and AI. 

About you:

  • MSc or PhD, e.g., in econometrics, statistics, mathematics, finance, data science, physics or a similar field with experience in statistical analysis and data manipulation techniques
  • Newly graduated or have some years of experience
  • A curious, analytical and goal-oriented mindset that enables you to identify and solve complex problems while keeping focus on the result
  • Hands-on experience with Python, SQL or similar tools
  • Strong collaboration skills and a willingness to work in project teams
  • Advanced written and verbal English skills 
  • Experience with model development or model validation would be beneficial 
  • Experience with financial crime prevention would be beneficial

Monthly salary range from 1720 EUR to 2580 EUR gross (based on your competencies relevant for the job).
