About the team
Non-Financial Risk (NFR) is a second line of defence function within Group Risk Management, responsible for setting standards, advising, and overseeing non-financial risk management across the Danske Bank Group. In the NFR Nordics Team, we oversee Danske Banks Nordic branches in Finland, Norway and Sweden.
The NFR Nordics team comprises of 5 risk specialists working in Finland, Norway, Sweden and Denmark. We enable responsible risk management through collaboration and work to ensure a culture of trust, integrity and psychological safety. We prioritise professional development and supporting each other to contribute meaningfully to risk management for our customers and stakeholders.
About the role
Your focus will be on the Finnish branch, where you will engage with stakeholders across the organisation to cover diverse and complex topics supporting the Groups goals and ambitions in the market. This involves building strong relationships and collaborating with stakeholders across the Group across the three lines of defence. You will also be part of the local Group Risk Management (GRM) organisation.
Key Responsibilities:
- Enhance second line oversight, monitoring, and challenge.
- Establish and run thematic reviews, both Group-wide with colleagues from other NFR teams and reviews specific to our area.
- Represent NFR in relevant forums (committees, councils, SteerCos, etc.).
- Foster relationships and communicate effectively with stakeholders within NFR and across the three lines of defence.
- Support and challenge the first line of defence on NFR framework implementation and promote a sound risk culture.
- Work closely with Country CRO and local stakeholders on branch oversight and relevant regulatory interactions.
About you
You are an analytical thinker with keen attention to detail. You model our cultural commitments (Team Up, Own It, Be Open), foster relationships and communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders to ensure positive outcomes. In addition, to succeed in this position, you possess:
- A relevant higher-level education and experience in risk management from a similar second line of defence function or a relevant role in first line of defence or compliance.
- Good understanding of non-financial risk methodologies.
- Broad understanding of standards and regulatory landscape (BCBS, ECB, EBA, Local FSAs, etc.).
- A good understanding of products and processes and the identification and management of the risks associated with them.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Finnish; other Scandinavian languages are a plus.
