Role summary

You will join the Risk and Compliance team, supporting the firm in managing regulatory, compliance and professional risks across CMS. The role involves working closely with colleagues across the business to provide practical guidance, respond to queries and support risk-related processes.

This is an opportunity to contribute to how risk is managed across a large, international organisation, while developing your experience in a collaborative and supportive team environment.

What youll do

In this role, you will:

  • Respond to queries from the Risk team inbox, supporting colleagues across the firm
  • Provide guidance on the application of the SRA Code of Conduct
  • Support colleagues on compliance topics such as confidentiality, outside interests, share dealing and anti-bribery and corruption
  • Assist with documentation including auditor requests, supplier agreements and secondment arrangements
  • Advise on engagement letters and terms of business, including key provisions such as conflicts, confidentiality and limitation of liability
  • Review and advise on client terms, working with Contract Lawyers where needed
  • Deliver training on risk and compliance topics to support understanding of firm policies and responsibilities
  • Contribute to risk assessments, audits and internal investigations
  • Support data protection matters, including data breaches and subject access requests
  • Review client file requests in line with firm processes
  • Maintain and improve team processes, systems and guidance
  • Act as a point of contact for regulatory queries from teams including Conflicts, AML and Matter Administration
  • Support the resolution of conflicts issues in collaboration with the Conflicts team
  • Provide input on risk considerations when new business is being reviewed
  • Monitor legal and regulatory developments and support updates to policies and procedures
  • Contribute to wider risk projects led by senior members of the team

What youll bring

  • Experience working in a legal or professional services environment
  • Experience in compliance or professional practice regulation
  • An understanding of the SRA Code of Conduct
  • Strong research and analytical skills
  • The ability to handle sensitive information with discretion
  • A clear and structured approach to problem solving
  • Confidence in communicating with a range of stakeholders
  • Organisation and time management skills

Experience delivering training or supporting data protection or contract review work would be useful but is not essential.
