The Citi EMEA FI Novation Team support a wide range of internal stakeholders having significant interaction with external clients, playing a key role in the overall client experience.

A role within Markets Operations means that you will have a truly global reach, in a supportive environment which will provide you with new experiences and development opportunities right here in Belfasts iconic Titanic Quarter. 

Role Overview

The Securities & Derivatives Intermediate Analyst is an intermediate level position responsible for processing orders and transactions originating from trading desks and branch offices in coordination with the Operations - Transaction Services team.

What you'll do:

  • This role will provide support to a variety of tasks related to the Fixed Income Novations process    
  • Activities will include independently dealing with Business As Usual (BAU) processes and additional ad-hoc queries from both internal and external Stakeholders within a complex Markets Operations environment.          
  • Involves in providing day-to-day Novation transactional processing which includes supporting the EMEA based Sales and Trading Desks
  • Demonstrates a comprehensive understanding of how the team collectively integrates to contribute to achieving overall business goals.
  • Applies in-depth knowledge of concepts and procedures within department to resolve issues related to Repo processes
  • Responsible for escalating control gaps and issues to senior management. Identifies Repo related control deficiencies and implements appropriate procedures and solutions to mitigate any risk or control losses
  • Directly impacts the area through shared responsibility for delivery of end results and formulation of procedures/process improvement
  • Responsible for detailed analysis of Repo related issues where the best course of action is not evident from the information available, but actions must be recommended/ taken

What we'll need from you:

  • Evidence of ability to perform multiple tasks and work towards deadlines.
  • Able communicator who is articulate and concise and can demonstrate strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to perform a range of tasks/projects and assist with the training of other team members in process and systems compliance.
  • Comfortable working in a team environment and using own initiative in recommending improvements to existing processes.
  • Able to drive own performance and willing to learn.
  • Can manage time effectively.
  • Has a creative and structured approach to problem solving.
  • Proficient in MS Office (Excel and Word)
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, and results oriented.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to partner with other teams to provide innovative solutions.
  • Relevant experience in an organizational or administrative role will be advantageous.
  • GCSE English & Maths at Grade C and above.
