Citi Market Operations is a global organization supporting the full post-trade lifecycle across a broad range of capital markets products. We partner closely with business, control, and client functions to deliver operational excellence, effective risk management, and a best-in-class client experience.
Within Market Operations, Japan Equity Middle Office team works for Equities business, partnering closely with Sales, Trading, and global Operations teams. This role offers the opportunity to gain broad exposure to the Equity trade lifecycle, develop strong stakeholder management and problem-solving skills, and work in a dynamic, collaborative environment.

In this role, youre expected to:
- Support the full post-trade lifecycle for Cash Equity transactions and partner closely with Sales and Trading teams.
- Ensure timely and accurate trade processing, client confirmations, and resolution of inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.
- Perform trade validation, reconciliations, and break investigations to maintain operational accuracy and service quality.
- Execute regulatory, reporting, and control activities in line with applicable requirements and internal policies.
- Manage and resolve operational issues, escalating risks where appropriate and driving timely resolution.
- Work collaboratively with business, technology, and operations teams to support process improvements and business initiatives.
- Contribute to a strong control environment by identifying opportunities to enhance processes and mitigate operational risk.
- Work directly on the trading floor, gaining exposure to market activity while building strong partnerships with Sales and Trading teams.
As a successful candidate, youd ideally have the following skills and exposure:
- Bachelors degree or equivalent experience.
- 1-3 years of experience in Equity Middle Office, Equity Settlements, or related Operations functions.
- Knowledge of Equity products and the trade lifecycle.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
- A proactive and team-oriented approach, with a willingness to learn and continuously improve processes.
- Sound risk and control mindset.
- Native or business-level Japanese and business-level English.
- JSDA Registered Representative (Class I) qualification
