Your Role

Key Responsibilities

  • AIX System Management:
  • Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems on IBM Power Systems.
  • Manage LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM virtualization.
  • Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
  • Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
  • Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
  • Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for deployments and integrations.
  • iSeries (IBM i) & pSeries Administration:
  • Manage IBM iSeries & pSeries environments including OS upgrades, PTFs, and job scheduling.
  • Support DB2/400, CLLE, RPGLE, and system security configurations.
  • Maintain BRMS backups and high availability solutions
  • Ensure compliance with audit and security standards.
  • SME Leadership:
  • Provide SME input into operations
  • Participate in on-call rotation and provide L3 escalation support.
  • Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge base development.

Your Profile

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Experience in AIX and iSeries system administration.
  • Strong knowledge of PowerHA, NIM, LVM, HMC, and SAN/NAS integration.
  • Proficiency in scripting for automation.
  • Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
  • Experience in regulated environments (e.g., banking) preferred.
  • Certifications: IBM Certified System Administrator AIX / IBM i (preferred).
