Your Role
Key Responsibilities
- AIX System Management:
- Install, configure, and maintain AIX operating systems on IBM Power Systems.
- Manage LPARs, VIO servers, and PowerVM virtualization.
- Perform system upgrades, patching, and performance tuning.
- Implement and maintain backup and recovery strategies.
- Monitor system performance and proactively resolve issues.
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams for deployments and integrations.
- iSeries (IBM i) & pSeries Administration:
- Manage IBM iSeries & pSeries environments including OS upgrades, PTFs, and job scheduling.
- Support DB2/400, CLLE, RPGLE, and system security configurations.
- Maintain BRMS backups and high availability solutions
- Ensure compliance with audit and security standards.
- SME Leadership:
- Provide SME input into operations
- Participate in on-call rotation and provide L3 escalation support.
- Document system configurations, procedures, and changes.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to knowledge base development.
Your Profile
Required Skills & Experience:
- Experience in AIX and iSeries system administration.
- Strong knowledge of PowerHA, NIM, LVM, HMC, and SAN/NAS integration.
- Proficiency in scripting for automation.
- Familiarity with ITIL processes and change management.
- Experience in regulated environments (e.g., banking) preferred.
- Certifications: IBM Certified System Administrator AIX / IBM i (preferred).
