Position Description:
Develops Cloud-based applications using SaaS solutions -- Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Azure. Innovates solutions to protect the technology landscape using Web Application Firewalls (WAF), Malware protection, and other network security solutions. Utilizes PowerShell and Python for scripting. Integrates applications with multiple data sources using native Application Program Interfaces (APIs). Deploys and supports highly distributed multi-tiered systems at scale using public Cloud environments. Works in Linux/UNIX and Windows environments to develop software applications. Automates the integration of code changes from multiple contributors into a single software project through the use of Continuous Integration and Continuous Development (CI/CD) practices.
Primary Responsibilities:
Integrates, logs, and monitors software solutions using Agile methodologies.
Develops, implements, and supports solutions to reduce IT threats.
Modifies software to correct errors, allowing it to adapt to new hardware, and to improve its performance.
Analyzes user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within constraints.
Develops software system testing and validation procedures, programming, and documentation.
Analyzes information to determine, recommend, and plans computer software specifications on major projects and proposes modifications and improvements based on user need.
Provides technical support for a broad array of contact center applications.
Improves development and maintenance of monitoring and instrumentation capabilities for existing suite of applications.
Establishes plans for continuous improvement regarding stability and availability.
Coordinates and encourages the adoption of new tools and processes within the team.
Collaborates with technical teams to identify dependencies, coordinate activity, and resolve problems.
Documents and reviews implementation plans, support procedures and environment configurations.
Education and Experience:
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and three (3) years of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing end-to-end design, and implementation and support of enterprise systems and infrastructure to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.
Or, alternatively, Masters degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, Information Systems, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and one (1) year of experience as a Senior Systems Engineer (or closely related occupation) performing end-to-end design, and implementation and support of enterprise systems and infrastructure to ensure secure, scalable, and reliable technology solutions.
Skills and Knowledge:
Candidate must also possess:
Demonstrated Expertise (DE) implementing scalable, reliable, and high-performance infra-structure solutions, using AWS CloudFormation or Terraform; orchestrating containerized applications using Kubernetes or Docker; and performing release management according to DevOps model using Jenkins, Docker, Artifactory, Ansible, or AWS functionalities.
DE designing and maintaining automated monitoring and alerting systems, using Grafana, Gitlab, or CI/CD; installing and integrating Web Agents NGINX and application servers (Tomcat), using Linux Scripts; configuring and debugging Web applications, services, and Java-based systems; building error locating monitors using Datadog, Splunk, or ELK; and ensuring early detection of issues and proactive resolution to minimize downtime, using AWS CloudWatch.
DE scripting and programming with a focus on automating repetitive tasks and streamlining operational workflows, using Python or Bash.
DE implementing CI/CD pipelines to streamline deployment processes with automation tools -- AWS ECS, EKS, AKS, UDeploy, or Gitlab CI/CD, to ensure efficient and error-free releases.
