About this role

Within the Aladdin Product Group Private Markets, we are hiring a Senior Software Engineer (Full Stack) to work on a critical application of the Aladdin Software suite: eFront Invest.

eFront Invest is the core application for Private Markets Investment Management within BlackRock Aladdin. It supports the full investment lifecycle:

  • Fundraising
  • Deal flow management
  • Fund management
  • Accounting

This is a hands-on senior individual contributor role focused on the eFront Invest platform and its features.

You will be responsible for:

  • Owning and delivering complex features across a cloud-based web platform
  • Applying strong software architecture principles
  • Operating across the full Product Delivery Life Cycle (PDLC)
  • Contributing directly through hands-on coding, technical judgment, and collaboration

About You

You are an experienced engineer who thrives in complex, large-scale systems where:

  • Correctness, traceability, and stability are critical
  • Understanding data flows and workflows across services is essential
  • Design decisions have a real downstream business impact

You will:

  • Work autonomously in complex codebases
  • Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and QA
  • Dive deep into existing systems (including legacy components)
  • Use AI tools to accelerate development, debugging, and feature delivery

As a senior engineer, you:

  • Contribute through hands-on execution, not hierarchy
  • Take full ownership of code quality and system impact
  • Ensure reliability of business-critical workflows

  • .NET Framework 4.x and .NET (.NET Core)

What you will be doing

  • Designing and implementing features within Invest, focusing on enhancing the platform and the operation capacity of the product.
  • Working across the full software lifecycle, including development, testing, deployment, monitoring, and incident investigation
  • Contributing to the evolution of core platform architecture, configuration, and customization capacities.
  • Writing clear, maintainable code and contributing to automated testing and CI/CD pipelines
  • Diagnosing issues in existing systems, including legacy Invest components, and improving them incrementally and safely
  • Participating actively in code reviews and technical discussions
  • Collaborating closely with engineers, architects, product partners, and QA across locations
  • Leverage AI tools and IDEs to maximize your productivity and deliver quality features on time.

What you bring

  • Masters degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related technical discipline
  • Extensive professional experience building and supporting production software systems (typically 10+ years)
  • Strong ability to independently navigate and understand complex, existing codebases
  • Solid analytical and problem-solving skills, particularly in data-centric and workflow-driven systems
  • Experience working on systems where data quality, auditability, and operational reliability are critical
  • Professional fluency in English, written and spoke
