The AML Compliance team within CIB is responsible for ensuring that Corporate and Investment Banking activities are conducted in accordance with applicable Anti-Money Laundering (AML/CFT) and international sanctions regulations. The team provides advisory support to business units, oversees AML and sanctions risks associated with CIB products and clients, and contributes to the design and implementation of robust compliance frameworks. It also supports Correspondent Banking activities through enhanced due diligence, client onboarding and periodic review processes, while working closely with business, risk and control functions to promote effective financial crime risk management and regulatory compliance.

About the job:

The CIB Compliance team is seeking a Principal Manager to strengthen the AML Compliance function within CIB Spain.

The main tasks will be:

  • Provide AML and Compliance advisory support to CIB business units, ensuring regulatory compliance in the development of their activities and initiatives.

  • Participating in projects to develop new processes or adapt existing ones that mitigate Compliance, Conduct Risk and AML/CFT risks.

  • Addressing and responding to supervisor requirements, as well as both external and internal audits.

  • Advising CIB Spain business areas on Compliance matters, particularly AML/CFT, international sanctions and Correspondent Banking activities.

  • Monitoring and providing advice to the FCP CIB department, regarding AML monitoring and Sanctions screening processes

  • Participating in the validation of onboarding and periodic review processes for Correspondent Banking relationships and CIB clients. Knowledge of Fenergo will be considered an asset. (knowledge of Fenergo tool will be valued).

Qualifications

  • University degree in Law, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • At least 10 years of professional experience in the financial sector, with a minimum of 56 years in the specific duties to be performed.

  • Knowledge of EU AML Package, AMLA framework, MiCA Regulation, Transfer of Funds Regulation (Travel Rule), FATF Recommendations and international sanctions regimes -Experience performing AML/Financial Crime Risk Assessments.

  • Fluent command of English and Spanish (essential requirement).

  • Knowledge of CIB activities and businesses will be valued, as well as an understanding of how its main operations (global markets, investment banking and financing, and global transactional banking) can lead to money laundering risks and international financial sanctions.

  • Knowledge of international financial sanctions (OFAC, EU, UK) will be valued -Ability to work with multidisciplinary stakeholders.

  • Ability to offer effective solutions under tight deadlines and in a highly demanding business environment.

  • Excellent management, communication, and teamwork skills.

  • High capacity for self-organization, proactivity, and autonomy in daily work.
