What will you be doing?

Barclays Services LLC seeks Delivery Team Lead - AVP (multiple positions) in Whippany, NJ:

  • Facilitate and continuously improve Agile ceremonies, ensuring they are wellstructured, timeboxed, and outcomedriven.

  • Perform Sprint Planning, Daily Standups, Sprint Reviews, Retrospectives, Backlog Refinement, and Program Increment (PI) events.

  • Serve as subject matter expert and mentor for junior team members on Agile, Lean, and SAFe principles, ensuring correct and consistent application of Scrum and Kanban practices, flowbased delivery, and LeanAgile mindset.

  • Identify, address and remove impediments to delivery, proactively addressing blockers, risks, dependencies, and systemic issues.

  • Escalate and coordinate with the RTE, other Scrum Masters, and ARTlevel forums when impediments exceed team boundaries.

  • Partner closely with the Product Owner to optimize execution, supporting effective backlog refinement, story readiness (Definition of Ready), capacity and sprint planning, and delivery execution while reinforcing clear accountability between product ownership and process facilitation.

  • Enable PI Planning and Inspect & Adapt readiness and execution, ensuring the squad enters PI events with refined features and stories, clear capacity assumptions, understood dependencies, and measurable PI Objectives; track and support followthrough on PI commitments and improvement actions.

  • Represent the squad in scaled Agile forums, including Scrum of Scrums and other ARTlevel ceremonies, providing transparent, datadriven updates on progress, risks, dependencies, and delivery confidence.

  • Ensure accuracy, consistency, and transparency in Agile tooling (e.g., Jira) by maintaining highquality data across workflows, statuses, ownership, and dates to support reliable reporting of delivery health, flow, and risk at team, ART, and portfolio levels.

  • Support squads working on Oraclebased platforms by ensuring Agile delivery practices align with databasedriven development, release coordination, data dependencies, and environment readiness across sprint and PI execution.

  • Enable effective Agile delivery for Ab Initio ETL and data integration workloads by managing dependencies, flow of data pipelines, and coordination across upstream/downstream systems while maintaining transparency of progress, risks, and delivery metrics.

Minimum Salary: $155,854.00 per year

Maximum Salary: $165,854.00 per year

Purpose of the role

To manage the efficient delivery of large-scale technical projects and capabilities across the bank and collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to understand their needs and expectations throughout the software product lifecycle, adhering to agreed time, budget and quality requirements. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of the delivery, resource allocation and improvement of complex technical project capabilities across the bank using Agile/Scrum methodologies for planning, stand-ups, demos, retrospectives and the execution of sprints.
  • Collaboration with customers and business teams to manage and implement customer trails to support the proposal of technically feasible solutions, and effort and timeline expectations.
  • Collaboration with software engineers, quality teams, product managers and other engineering teams to deliver high-quality products and features through the software project lifecycle aligned to the banks objectives, regulation and security policies.
  • Identification, assessment, and mitigation of risks associated with technical projects to prepare the bank for potential challenges.
  • Management of change requests and communication with stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Management of vendor relations involved in technical projects to ensure they deliver according to agreed terms.
  • Stay abreast of the latest industry technology trends and technologies, to evaluate and adopt new approaches to improving deliver outcomes and to foster a culture of continuous learning, technical excellence and growth.

  • To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
