In this role, you will join the Barclays Digital Platform (XDP) team as we embark on a transformative journey to build a unified digital platform for the bank. This platform will deliver a modern, innovative, and AI-powered experience across Barclays digital channels, leveraging cutting-edge technologies to redefine how customers interact with our services. As part of the Infrastructure and AI team, you will play a key role in designing, delivering, and evolving the foundational infrastructure that powers the platform, while enabling AI-driven capabilities that create new and enhanced customer journeys. You will collaborate with teams across Barclays Technology to drive the successful delivery of strategic programs, business outcomes, and critical platform capabilities. This role offers the opportunity to apply and expand your expertise in large-scale infrastructure, platform engineering, and emerging AI technologies within a highly collaborative environment.

To be successful as a Senior Delivery Manager - VP, you should have:

  • Proven experience leading and delivering large-scale, enterprise-wide infrastructure programs that require coordination and alignment across multiple teams and stakeholders

  • Ample proficiency with Jira, including advanced planning and portfolio management capabilities such as Advanced Roadmaps, for effective cross-team work tracking and delivery management

  • Solid experience working within Agile/Scrum environments, including sprint planning, backlog refinement, execution, and stakeholder communication

  • Experience leveraging AI tools and prompt engineering techniques to enhance productivity, streamline workflows, and improve delivery outcomes, including tools such as Microsoft Copilot

  • Considerable understanding of public cloud platforms and infrastructure services, including AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with experience supporting cloud-based solutions and enterprise environments

Other highly valued skills include:

  • Demonstrated hands-on experience implementing and managing Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) solutions using tools such as Terraform, AWS CloudFormation, and similar automation frameworks

  • Good understanding of CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices, with experience integrating security, automation, and quality controls throughout the software delivery lifecycle

  • Proficiency in business intelligence and data visualization tools, including Tableau, with the ability to develop automated dashboards and reporting solutions that support data-driven decision-making

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to engage, influence, and effectively communicate complex technical concepts to senior leaders, business stakeholders, and cross-functional teams

Purpose of the role

To manage change projects that help the organisation achieve its strategic objectives, while ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, in control and in compliance with regulatory requirements and internal policies and procedures. 

Accountabilities

  • Management of change projects within the organisation, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within scope, budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Development and management of project plans that outline the scope, objectives, timelines, and resource requirements for change projects.
  • Communication with stakeholders, including senior management, project teams, and external partners, to ensure that they are informed about project progress and that their needs and expectations are being met.
  • Management of project teams, ensuring that they are properly resourced and that they have the necessary skills and expertise to deliver on project objectives.
  • Management of project budgets, ensuring that projects are delivered within the agreed budget.
  • Creation of reports on project progress to ensure that proposed solutions are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Management of project risks, ensuring that risk, assumptions, issues and dependencies are identified, assessed, and mitigated as necessary.
  • Facilitation of change management activities, including training and communication, to ensure that change projects are successfully implemented and embedded in the organisation.
