Responsibilities: Ensure AXA Groups Life and Financial Risk Management Standards, Policies and frameworks, are established and followed accordingly with appropriate adaption to AXAHKs operating condition, if needed Support Local Audit, Risk and Compliance Committee on life and financial risk related matters, both technically and logistically Support Life, Health and Financial Risk Director in ensuring an effective 2nd line of defense by providing technical 2nd opinion, review and challenge on: Actuarial assumptions for reporting under Solvency II, HKRBC, EEV, NBV, IFRS and local statutory reserving etc Appropriateness of experience studies and the tracking of updated experiences to support life insurance assumptions setting Policyholders bonus strategies and Policyholders Reasonable Expectation assessment Best Estimated Liabilities and reserve 2nd opinion Capital & solvency under HKRBC and Solvency II internal model, including key drivers and management actions ALM risk management through active participation in SAA review exercise, collaboration with investment team in formulating, implementing, and monitoring of risk mitigation strategies Ensure that comprehensive risk profiles are prepared, maintained and reported in the insurance aspects of AXAHKs business through close collaboration with front line business partners such as product development, actuarial pricing team etc. When needed, support the annual risk assessment process for specific functional departments. Support Life, Health and Financial Risk Director in assessing reinsurance related activities such as annual retention limits study, catastrophe reinsurance, new or revised reinsurance strategies etc. Support the implementation of AXA Groups Risk Appetite, life and financial risk limits monitoring process by engaging in more technical discussions at the working level, if needed Ensure proper compliance to various regulatory (e.g. Solvency II / HKRBC / BSCR) requirements such as: Enforcement of internal model policies such as data quality, model governance, change & validation policy etc Support the preparation of ORSA / CISSA Reports Ensure the Use Test requirements are followed such as product pricing and reinsurance decisions are made with proper assessment on the impact to the full range of Risk Appetite metrics Support the assessment of the latest climate risk guidelines from various regulatory bodies (e.g, HKFI, BMA, etc.) and prepare action plan for implementation, including reporting and monitoring to the relevant committees Provide life and financial risk management support to the Bermuda entity, including risk policies, appetite metrics and risk reporting, in coordination with local and Group stakeholders Lead deep dives / initiatives to review the key risk areas within the business, support the business teams to enhance their process and controls Drive a sound risk culture, promoting open discussion within the business, debate and challenge across functional units, independent peer review as a norm with regard to key reports and decisions, and pro-active management of risks and issues. Work closely and collectively with functional units (within AXA HK and AXA Group) to support management in ensuring their risks are identified, assessed, reported and managed Qualifications: A minimum of 10 years of relevant experience in the financial services industry, preferably within Insurance Demonstrated ability to lead complex risk initiatives and effectively influence senior stakeholders Strong knowledge and experience of actuarial processes and controls Solid understanding of capital and solvency frameworks (HKRBC and/or Solvency II; internal model experience is a plus) Experience with ALM and financial risks concepts are preferred Strong knowledge of risk management, pricing and/or liability valuation of life insurance products in Hong Kong Professional designation: Qualified Actuary or close to qualification is preferred Strong report writing, presentation and verbal communication skills in English and Chinese Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to provide independent challenge while maintaining collaborative relationships About AXA Hong Kong and Macau AXA Hong Kong and Macau is a member of the AXA Group, a leading global insurer with presence in 52 markets and serving 92 million customers worldwide.
