Role Purpose As a key member of the GI Pricing & Portfolio Analytics team, the Assistant Manager is an analytical professional who contributes to AXA Hong Kongs competitive edge in General Insurance. This role supports the team by applying technical pricing skills and portfolio analysis to help ensure sustainable profitability and market responsiveness. By utilizing data-driven insights, predictive analytics, and AI-powered tools, the Assistant Manager will support product performance, contribute to innovation, and help reinforce AXAs market position in Hong Kong. Key Responsibilities Technical Pricing Excellence Drive technical pricing across assigned P&C portfolios and products, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and alignment with companys strategic objectives. Lead the development, enhancement, and calibration of pricing models and rating structures, including the use of GLMs and other advanced methods. Provide clear, insightful, and transparent communication of pricing methodologies, assumptions, and recommendations to internal stakeholders (e.g. Underwriting, Product, Distribution, Finance, Actuary) to enable informed decision-making and foster trust. Balance competitiveness, profitability, and customer value while ensuring adherence to internal pricing governance and regulatory requirements. Champion the integration and enhancement of AI-powered pricing engines and machine learning models to enable dynamic, market-responsive pricing. Portfolio Analytics & Data Insights Lead regular portfolio monitoring by channel, product, and customer segment to identify trends, emerging risks, and opportunities for growth or remediation. Conduct deep-dive profitability analysis on underperforming segments, developing data-driven recommendations and action plans. Apply predictive modelling, GLMs, and AI-driven forecasting to anticipate market shifts and claims trends, and translate these into concrete pricing, underwriting, and product strategies. Use advanced analytics and visualization tools to deliver clear, actionable insights for senior management and key stakeholders. Ensure analytics are directly linked to and influence strategic initiatives, including product design, customer retention, and portfolio steering. Governance & Strategic Projects Act as a key contributor or workstream lead on pricing and portfolio-related strategic projects, providing subject matter expertise and leading analytical workstreams. Ensure all pricing models, assumptions, and analytics comply with internal governance standards, group policies, and local regulatory requirements. Drive adoption and embedding of AI governance frameworks, ensuring ethical, transparent, and controlled use of AI in pricing and portfolio analytics. Prepare and present high-quality materials (papers, dashboards, decks) for committees, SteerCos, and senior stakeholders, clearly articulating issues, options, and recommendations. Help coach and guide junior team members in technical pricing, analytics best practices, and use of tools, contributing to overall team capability building. Required Qualifications, Experience & Competencies Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or related field; ACII/FCII preferred. 4-5+ years experience in general insurance, with deep industry knowledge. Solid understanding of insurance principles and the Hong Kong GI market. Hands-on experience with pricing model development or portfolio analysis; an actuarial background is advantageous. Strong data analysis skills with proficiency in tools like SQL, Python, R, or SAS; experience with visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is a plus. Experience with or a strong interest in applying AI-powered tools for pricing, analytics, and decision support. A proactive and agile mindset, with the ability to adapt to changing market conditions and priorities. Good communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly. Excellent written and spoken English.
