We are recruiting an Event Technology Manager to join our Information Technology department in London.
Role purpose
Reporting to the Director, Global AV & Workplace, this Manager level role will oversee the global event technology team working in conjunction with local leadership to ensure event operational success within our footprint. The role is a member of the Workplace technology team and is responsible for managing and motivating a large team of skilled IT professionals and directing external third-party service providers.

This Event Technology Manager will lead the strategy, operational readiness and delivery of event technology across our regions, including in-office events, offsite programs, studio broadcast and hybrid experiences.

The role also will work in tandem with other regional teams and business services groups to ensure our global approach is aligned with the event technology services and production standards are planned, deployed and supported for firm-wide programs, ensuring consistent quality, risk controls, and stakeholder satisfaction.
Role & responsibilities
  • Own the event technology service model, including intake, planning, delivery and post-event reporting.
  • Lead technical planning for executive, partner and client-facing events, including run-of-show support, rehearsals and contingency planning.
  • Design and standardize event technology kits and workflows (audio, video, collaboration, streaming, recording and interpretation) for repeatable delivery.
  • Manage hybrid and broadcast productions, including platform selection, streaming architecture, recording, captioning and distribution workflows.
  • Coordinate with Events, Marketing and Communications to ensure brand standards and content delivery requirements are met.
  • Oversee setup, operation and troubleshooting of event AV systems, including microphones, mixing, DSP, video switching, projection/LED, cameras, lighting and control.
  • Establish and enforce technical risk controls (security, privacy, data handling, access management) for recordings, streams and external platforms.
  • Manage vendors and production partners: scope definition, quotes, schedules, onsite staffing, SLAs and performance reviews.
  • Develop and maintain event documentation (technical briefs, checklists, floor plans, signal flow diagrams and post-event lessons learned).
  • Track event technology KPIs, incident trends, and continuous improvement initiatives to increase reliability and client experience.
  • Partner with Real Estate / Facilities and Solutions Engineering on event space upgrades, new build requirements and lifecycle replacements.
  • Provide training to regional support teams and event stakeholders on standard practices and tools.
  • Develop customer relationships with fee earners and business teams to manage the delivery of seamless events by managing all AV events
  • Act as the focal point for matters related to the delivery of seamless events by managing all relevant technologies, providing expert guidance to other teams when required.
  • Performance management of production specialist, providing mentorship and ensuring alignment with HR standards and policies.
  • Support service provider reviews to assess performance against service targets, drive innovation and ensure any remediation activities are being delivered.
  • Identify and pursue opportunities for continuous improvement in the delivery of seamless events by managing all AV technologies.
Key requirements
  • Direct or related experience in video production, preferably within the legal or professional services sector.
  • Knowledge and understanding of hybrid meeting and streaming platforms, including best practices for reliability, latency, captioning and audience engagement and their operational management.
  • Knowledge of IT strategic planning, design, and operations processes.
  • Proven project management capabilities.
  • Familiarity with managing vendors, production budgets, scheduling and onsite logistics across multiple locations.
  • Knowledge of current IT and data market trends and technology innovations.
  • Proven track record of managing teams.
  • At least 5 years background in the IT industry, with experience managing complex production projects.
  • Proven stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
  • Proven business acumen and ability to understand how they add value the function, firm or clients.
  • Ability to lead and develop team members.
