Were looking for Sanctions Analysts to join our newly established Sanctions Analyst team in Sao Paulo, Brazil. This role is a unique opportunity to have an impact on Wises mission, grow as a Sanctions expert and help Wise stay compliant with Sanctions Regulations. If you enjoy analysing information, carrying out complex investigations, working with constant changes, and have an eye for detail this job is for you.
Your mission:
Wise has already pioneered new ways for people to transfer money across borders and currencies. Our customers can also manage their hard-earned money with the worlds first platform to offer true multi-currency banking. Your mission is to protect customers and Wise by assessing whether alerts raised by our sanctions screening systems raise any sanctions concerns.
Heres how youll be contributing to the Sanctions Screening team:
Follow operational procedures on sanctions alert handling for all alert types, including documenting the decision rationale. Speed and accuracy of decision making is essential.
Perform analysis of potential matches against sanctions lists alerted through sanctions screening of customers and transactions.
Communicate with customers when further information is required as part of reviewing against sanctions lists.
Escalate alerts that may raise any potential reporting requirements.
Provide inputs in order to refine automated sanctions screening risk methodology, reduce false positives, mitigate sanctions risks and improve customer experience.
Able to take ownership and accountability for all cases, knowledge sharing and projects/tasks, if any.
Youre eligible to work in Brazil;
Youre flexible with working hours - your shifts would include some weekends and afternoons (11:00AM - 7:00PM)
You are ready to work 2 weekend shifts per month. (Which may be subjected to change based on customer demands)
Your verbal and written English skills are excellent;
You have an exceptionally inquisitive mind. You are always looking out for more information where available, enjoy conducting legal and investigative research utilising open-source research systems.
You have a great eye for detail. You are meticulous and can look at information with factual precision;
You have exceptional logical thinking. You are naturally able to interpret data and draw logical conclusions;
You have great communication skills, both written and verbal. You are able to express your thoughts concisely and logically; youre able to communicate in a cross-team environment;
Youre able to articulate and justify your decisions. You are confident and comfortable making independent judgement calls;
Youre able to work under pressure. You can multitask efficiently and take responsibility in challenging situations;
Youre punctual, independent, proactive and curious to learn;
Youre a true team player but happy working alone on independent projects;
Youre open to and value feedback in order to improve;
Previous experience or knowledge about sanctions and/or financial crime is a big plus, as well as an understanding of SWIFT payments, trade finance, and cross border payments
Nice to have:
Certified in ABRACAM (ABT1)
