Full Job Description
The Manager, Business Development, Global Clients & Industries, is responsible for the effective execution of industry-led business development activities. This role is specifically aligned with our Private Capital Industry Group and in support of the APAC region.
The role supports the cultivation of relationships with established clients, analyzes market, client, and competitor insight to identify revenue opportunities for the Firm, and coordinates delivery of Industry Group initiatives across practices and regions.
Working closely with Global Industry Group Leader(s), and the broader Marketing & Business Development Function such as Global Strategic Client BD teams, Practice Group BD teams, Marketing & Communications, and Marketing Operations, the role ensures consistent, high-quality, and efficient delivery of business development activity aligned with Firm priorities.
Key responsibilities include:
Support delivery of APAC private capital business development initiatives to drive client engagement, revenue growth and cross-practice collaboration in line with global and firm strategy.
Build and maintain a strong understanding of the private capital industry, key APAC markets and client types, and the firms value proposition and services for these clients.
Monitor industry trends and client issues and translate market insights into practical recommendations that inform business planning and go-to-market activity.
Support internal training and upskilling initiatives to enhance lawyers understanding of private capital industry developments and client needs.
Act as the APAC business development lead and primary point person for the Private Equity, Investment Funds and Private Credit pillars within the Private Capital Industry Group.
Coordinate internal APAC-focused Industry Group meetings, communications and updates to ensure alignment and effective information sharing.
Lead planning and execution of APAC-related industry events, client trainings and conferences in partnership with Events and Communications teams.
Support APAC go-to-market campaigns and thought leadership initiatives in collaboration with Marketing & Communications, Content and Paid Media teams.
Develop, manage and promote APAC-focused marketing collateral, credentials and industry materials, and support pitches, proposals and RFPs with relevant regional and sector positioning.
Build strong relationships with Business Services and Marketing functions and support awards, rankings and directory submissions, while improving BD processes, reporting, system usage and compliance with firm policies.
Qualifications and experience required:
Bachelors degree or equivalent experience; relevant professional qualifications an advantage.
Native-level English fluency required, and additional language skills welcomed, but not essential
Prior experience with private capital clients preferred, which could be private equity and/or private credit
Experience at first-tier international law firm and/or business development roles with private capital focus preferred.
Experience delivering business development or marketing activities within a professional services environment.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and stakeholders.
Ability to analyze insight and data and translate it into practical business development support.
Clear and effective communication skills and a collaborative working style.
