Join Vanguard's Financial Crime team and play a key role in protecting our clients, our business, and the integrity of the financial system.

As a Financial Crime Operations Analyst, you will conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Source of Wealth (SoW) assessments and periodic reviews of higher-risk customers. You'll use your analytical skills and judgement to assess financial crime risk, support robust customer risk assessments and help ensure Vanguard continues to meet its regulatory obligations.

In this role you will

  • Support the development, implementation and testing of financial crime controls, helping to identify control enhancements and improve overall effectiveness

  • Conduct Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Source of Wealth (SoW) reviews and periodic customer reviews, ensuring risk assessments are accurate, evidence-based and compliant with regulatory requirements

  • Analyse information from a variety of sources, document findings and contribute to management reporting, dashboards and risk insights

  • Support the ongoing monitoring and effectiveness of internal financial crime controls and processes

  • Partner with stakeholders across the business to support audit activity, regulatory requirements and risk mitigation initiatives

  • Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support effective risk management outcomes

  • Help promote a strong culture of compliance by sharing knowledge and raising awareness of financial crime and control requirements

  • Contribute to projects and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance Vanguard's financial crime framework

What it takes

  • Experience in AML/KYC, CDD, EDD, Source of Wealth or periodic review activities within Financial Services

  • Strong understanding of Financial Crime regulations and lifecycle, including AML, Sanctions, Bribery and Corruption and Tax Evasion

  • Experience assessing Asset management customer risk (inclining high risk) and complex ownership structures

  • Strong analytical and investigative skills with the ability to make sound, risk-based decisions

  • Ability to produce clear, concise and evidence-based holistic risk assessments

  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills

  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience

Desirable skills

  • Experience within financial services, investment management, wealth management, banking or fintech

  • Knowledge of UK Money Laundering Regulations, JMLSG Guidance and FCA expectations

  • Experience using customer screening, case management and risk assessment tools
