Full Job Description

The Global Transfer Pricing and Intercompany Accounting team plays a critical role in enabling accurate enterprise financial reporting, transparent cost allocation, strong governance, and effective decision-making across Vanguards U.S. and international operations. The team sits at the intersection of accounting, tax, technology, legal, reporting, and business operations, providing finance professionals with the opportunity to influence enterprise allocation strategy, strengthen controls, modernize processes, and support a scalable global operating model. Manages and leads Vanguards intercompany accounting function, with responsibility for global transfer pricing, model governance, automation initiative, controls, audit readiness, reporting quality, and team leadership. Leads teams responsible for producing accurate and timely reporting and reconciliations. Provides guidance on key priorities and infrastructure initiatives impacting the team.

You'll partner across Accounting, Tax, Legal, Technology, and business teams while leading a high-performing team responsible for critical enterprise reporting, controls, audit readiness, and the future scalability of Vanguards global operating model.

Responsibilities:

  • Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Advises senior-level business leaders on impact of allocation strategy on various operations across the enterprise. Understands activities, risks, and economic drivers in the US and international businesses.
  • Demonstrates leadership and collaboration with business stakeholders and external parties. Partner with a cross-functional group including accounting, tax, reporting, legal, and technology teams to maintain the model, deliver monthly results, and ensure proper controls.
  • Build and lead a high-performing team. Hires, evaluates, and supervises crew. Provides guidance and training as necessary to develop crew. Sets performance standards, reviews performance, and makes informed compensation decisions in accordance with all applicable Human Resources policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates the annual internal and external audit processes for system configuration and model methodology.
  • Influences, and implements key effective internal controls that support accurate financial and regulatory reporting. Works closely with business areas to ensure compliance.
  • Oversees the account reconciliation process and ensures that all intercompany general ledger accounts are reconciled. Anticipates and provides solutions to complex finance and accounting problems.
  • Oversees the development and implementation of procedural changes to improve departmental efficiency and effectiveness. Updates and maintains departmental procedures for intercompany transactions.
  • Oversee model methodology, including approval and oversight of intercompany allocation framework, annual cost center recertification and annual model recertification processes.
  • Review data requests for new departments, closed departments, etc.
  • Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

  • Minimum of ten years' related work experience in financial analysis. Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience. Finance or Accounting degree preferred. Graduate degree preferred.
  • CPA preferred.
