Full Job Description

Main Purpose

We are seeking an experienced, motivated, and detail-oriented Sustainability Specialist with expertise in sustainability and renewable fuels to join our team in Geneva.

In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with the European Renewable Energy Directive (RED), providing policy advisory support, and managing day-to-day mass balance operations. You will work closely with internal and external stakeholders, coordinating reporting activities and contributing to the development of key compliance documentation.

This is an excellent opportunity for a structured, organised individual with a strong eye for detail and a genuine interest in environmental compliance to develop their career within a dynamic, international environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and interpret policies, laws, and regulations governing bio- and renewable fuels

  • Manage compliance with biofuels voluntary scheme standards and the Renewable Energy Directive

  • Maintain and reconcile mass balance files and prepare documentation for audits

  • Coordinate and produce reports for internal and external stakeholders

  • Review and assess contracts for sustainability compliance requirements

  • Represent the team at trainings, audits, and meetings, with international travel as required

Required Qualifications

  • Prior experience in biodiesel or biofuels sustainability is required

  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel

  • Strong analytical mindset with the ability to interpret complex data and track regulatory developments in the biofuels sector

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English

  • Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously

  • Collaborative team player with a proactive approach to problem-solving

  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development in sustainability and renewable energy

Reporting Structure      

The role will report to the Global Head of Biofuels who is based in Geneva.
