Responsibilities

Mission: 

SG Vienne supports corporate and institutional clients, notably through global transactions & payment services activities. As part of the compliance team, you will report to the head of compliance/AMLO (CCO/AMLO) of the SG Vienne branch as part of a small and dynamic team, with permanent interaction with local business teams and compliance teams in Paris headquarters.The compliance officer will contribute to supporting the business in achieving appropriate conduct and customer outcomes, while managing regulatory, reputational and compliance risks that the bank may face. The compliance officer has several roles covering the financial crime function AML/FT, ABC, EMB and KYC as well as the non-financial crime Compliance risks.

Tasks and responsibilities:

As compliance officer of SG Vienne branch, you will be responsible for the following main responsibilities:

Advisory, framework, policies & training

  • Provide day-to-day compliance advice to the first line of defense related to business activities, specific transactions, sensitive situations or regulatory developments

  • Support regulatory watch and, in coordination with legal where relevant, contribute to the assessment and integration of new regulatory requirements

  • Contribute to the implementation and update of policies, procedures and guidelines and ensure that they remain aligned with group instructions and local regulatory requirements

  • Develop and support the delivery of training programs

Financial Security (AML/FT, ABC, EMB and KYC)

  • Review client onboarding and periodic KYC files, including risk classification, completeness and documentation quality, together with the AMLO / Deputy AMLO

  • Provide guidance to employees on financial crime compliance matters

  • Analyze Level 2 alerts and support the analysis of unusual transactions and contribute for  the suspicious transaction escalation, reporting process where required and internal and group-wide escalation and investigation

  • Assess the entitys exposure to financial crime risks, including maintaining risk classification, updating red flag frameworks, and contributing to regulatory exercises

  • Escalate sensitive cases (notably involving corruption risks) to relevant governance bodies (e.g., CABCO)

  • Develop and support the delivery of financial crime training programs in coordination with Compliance and FCC teams, with a focus on high-risk populations

Compliance Monitoring & Control Level 2

  • Perform second-level controls LoD2 on key compliance topics, including AML/CFT, KYC, sanctions, market integrity and other relevant compliance risks

  • Review and challenge first-line controls to ensure effectiveness, consistency and appropriate risk coverage

  • Identify and, when necessary, escalate control weaknesses and contribute to remediation action plans

  • Contribute to the permanent control framework and related reporting

Risk Assessment & Reporting

  • Support the head of compliance in conducting the annual compliance risk assessment for the activities present in the branch and setting up the resulting action plans, including for financial security maintaining risk classification, updating red flag frameworks

  • Support the preparation of dashboards, data and reporting packs, and governance materials

  • Participate in internal committees where relevant, especially the Compliance Committee

  • Assist the CCO / AMLO in tracking incidents, breaches, remediation actions and the follow-up of related action plans

Audit, Regulatory Interaction & Documentation

  • Support internal audits, inspections and regulatory reviews, including external reviews, under the coordination of the Head of Compliance

  • Contribute to the preparation of responses and follow-up of findings

  • Support regulatory reportings including local and European questionnaires

  • Ensure proper documentation and traceability of Compliance activities

Transversal Initiatives

  • Actively contribute to transversal, group-led or enterprise-wide compliance projects where relevant for the branch activities

Profile required

Studies & experience:

  • University degree, preferably in Law or Business Economics, or relevant 2 to 3 years experience in Compliance, Financial Crime Compliance, Risk, Internal Control, or an equivalent role within the international corporate banking industry

  • Experience in banking / financial services is strongly preferred

  • Understanding of the three lines of defense model and internal control frameworks is a plus

Language skills:

  • English: C1

  • German is a strong advantage

Technical, operational & Soft skills:

  • Strong analytical capabilities

  • Strong attention to detail and ability to identify inconsistencies

  • Ability to challenge constructively and interact with business teams

  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage priorities under deadlines while remaining resilient

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, teamwork and stakeholder management

  • Autonomous, rigorous and proactive
