SEB is a leading international financial services group with a customer base among both private individuals and organizations. SEB Luxembourg branch serves as the hub for Private Wealth Management & Family Office (PWM&FO) services to Nordic nationals living abroad. It is also the base for many of SEBs funds and offers global custody and related depositary services to financial institutions. We have around 150 employees with over 20 different nationalities.
We are now looking for an experienced Compliance Officer to join our PWM&FO Compliance team in Luxembourg, which is part of the divisional Wealth & Asset Management Compliance function within Group Compliance. The role is divided between PWM&FO Compliance Luxembourg and PWM&FO Compliance Sweden with reporting to the Head of PWM&FO Compliance Luxembourg.
About the role
As Compliance Officer, you will work both independently and in close collaboration with the compliance teams in Luxembourg and Sweden. The role offers a broad range of responsibilities, from providing advice and conducting monitoring activities to engaging with a variety of stakeholders, including, senior management, colleagues across the SEB Group as well as local supervisory authorities.
We are looking for an experienced MiFID specialist with preferred, knowledge in other regulations, to provide compliance oversight, advice, and support to the PWM&FO business. The role is within a small compliance team requiring the ability to share tasks and learn new regulatory areas in a fairly short time. The role involves close interaction with various parts of the organization, including senior management, and the ability to collaborate with colleagues across Group Compliance.
To thrive in this role, we believe you:
- Have a university or business school degree. While a law degree is preferred, a strong understanding of the regulatory environment for investment services and a keen interest in regulatory matters are equally valued.
- Have at least 5 years of experience in the financial industry, including strong expertise in MiFID. Knowledge in one or several other financial regulations related to banking or securities markets is desired but not mandatory (e.g., MAD/MAR, AML, GDPR, DORA etc.).
- Are flexible and enjoy diversity in work tasks with the ability to take on new knowledge quickly and independently.
- Have experience and ability to work independently while also being comfortable collaborating across different teams and managing day-to-day operational tasks.
- Have a strategic and forward-thinking mindset, with a proactive approach to developing and improving ways of working.
- Can build strong relationships and collaborate effectively across the organization.
- Have an interest in wealth management and experience working in a control function.
- Have strong communication skills and fluency in English. Knowledge of Swedish and/or French is considered an advantage.

You are adaptable and comfortable navigating a changing regulatory environment, with the curiosity and openness to embrace new perspectives and contribute to the continued development of a data-driven compliance function.
