The Team

This role is part of a newly established team within the Private Debt and Credit Alternatives (PDCA) Operations platform, which provides relevant operational support to its overall funds and mandates portfolio. The position is ideal for a motivated individual with previous, operational experience.

 

What You'll do

Oversight, control and quality assurance: 

Ensure oversight and control mechanisms in terms of quality and accuracy in the execution of middle office tasks such as:

  • Oversee the services provided by service provider teams (internal and external) incl. support in DDs and review on SLAs

    • Investment activity support: Support the acquisition of new private transactions by assisting the investment & operations team in the execution process. 

    • Manage counterparty due diligence, subscription documentation and KYC requests for new and existing private credit investments, ensuring required documentation is complete.

    • Coordinate with investment, legal, operations and external counterparties on funding mechanics, settlement conditions, asset delivery requirements and post-close operational handover.

    • Support new product launches, system enhancements and operating model changes by defining requirements and confirming that processes operate as intended.

    • Coordinate custody operations, including settlement queries, private loan funding cash instructions, credit facility cash instructions and timely follow-up of outstanding items.

    • Support loan administration activities, including instructing return of capital and income bookings for private deals and monitoring loan lifecycle events.

     

Valuation, pricing and performance oversight:

  • Support security fair value pricing processes by coordinating inputs, reviewing valuation support, tracking approvals and ensuring pricing outputs are reflected accurately in relevant systems.

  • Support performance monitoring and delivery by reviewing performance data, PCAP statements, private fund performance outputs and related reporting before distribution to stakeholders.

 

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Maintain accurate records of activities in internal systems. Ensure relevant data governance & controls across all platforms, bespoke tools and processes.

  • Generate and distribute regular and ad-hoc reports on data accuracy and effective control environment.

  • Coordinate benchmark setup requests and related reference data requirements to support performance and reporting processes.

 

Risk Management and Compliance:

  • Support risk management activities by providing timely updates on potential issues.

  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory requirements and work with others to ensure Schroder group policies are adhered to and that existing procedures/practices and processes are refined to reduce operational risk and internal policies.

  • Collaborate with the compliance team to implement and monitor adherence to established guidelines.

     

     

Operational Efficiency:

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk.

  • Develop and maintain best practices for middle office operations in the context of PDCA (initially focused on Securitized Products & Asset backed Finance).

  • Provide training and support across PDCA on operational processes and systems.

  • Complete other ad-hoc projects and tasks from time to time.

     

     

Stakeholder Communication:

  • Act as a central point of contact for all middle office-related inquiries from internal and external stakeholders.

  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with investment teams, operations, corporate functions, further internal and external service providers, etc.

 

The Knowledge, Experience, and Qualifications You Need

Education and Experience

  • Education and Experience

  • Business school degree or university degree and/or Qualified Accountant 

     

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in Middle Office, Audit or an Accounting firm, preferably within private markets.

     

     

  • Technical Skills

  • Strong understanding of public & private markets products and overall operations.

  • Proficiency in middle/back-office systems and financial software (prior experience with systems such as Aladdin, eFront, or similar is advantageous).

  • Advanced Excel skills and familiarity with data management tools.

     

     

  • Soft Skills

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities simultaneously.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Able to work autonomously, keeping your superiors abreast of status as necessary

 

Compensation
Schroders offers a base salary in the range of $110,000-$125,000 for this position.
This range reflects the Companys good faith belief at the time of posting. Actual compensation may vary depending on factors such as experience, education, geographic location, and skill set.
