Please note: This posting is for a 4-month Student Winter 2027 placement with a start date of January 11, 2027 and end-date of April 30, 2027. 
 
In order to be eligible for this Winter Student position, you must either:

  • Be returning back to school after the work term end-date of April 2027; or

  • If you are not returning back to school (i.e. are graduating in April 2027), but you require the work term as a mandatory component in order to graduate successfully.

We're seeking a Financial Analyst to join our Commercial Banking team and play a key role in supporting credit analysis, financial modeling, and client portfolio management. This is an exciting opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a dynamic banking environment and contribute to meaningful business decisions.

  • Credit Management Analyst
  • Commercial Credit Business Analyst

What will you do?

Depending on your placement, you may:

  • Prepare financial analysis (i.e. ROI, variance, margin) and credit assessments for commercial loan applications
  • Develop and maintain financial models to evaluate borrower credit worthiness and loan structures
  • Support senior analysts in monitoring existing client portfolios and identifying risks or opportunities
  • Assist in preparing presentations and reports for internal stakeholder meetings and client discussions

What do you need to succeed?

Must-have:

  • Currently enrolled in a post-secondary program in Commerce, Finance, Business Administration or Economics (or a related field)
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office including Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUP, Data Visualization such as Tableau)
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills
  • Understanding of business fundamentals, financial analysis, financial modelling, data management, accounting principles and strategic business rationales
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced, dynamic environments and adjust to new challenges
  • Collaboration & Communication skills; cross-functional teamwork and stakeholder engagement across all roles
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with strong attention to detail

Nice-to-have:

  • Understanding of commercial banking, financial services and business fundamentals
  • Familiarity with banking systems or credit analysis tools
  • Knowledge of commercial lending products and practices
  • Previous internship or co-op experience in finance
  • Ability to transform raw data into compelling and actionable narratives to help drive business decisions
