Full Job Description

The Sanctions Advisory & Operations team within Group Compliance is responsible for implementing and overseeing financial sanctions within RBI, supporting compliance with international regulatory requirements. 
In this role, you contribute to managing sanctions-related risks, ensuring consistent application of policies, and supporting responsible business operations.

 

Your role at RBI:

 

  • Implement and maintain group-wide) processes related to financial sanctions, ensuring alignment with internal policies and regulatory requirements
  • Monitor and interpret sanctions regulations (e.g. EU, US, UK, Austria) and support their integration into internal processes
  • Advise internal stakeholders and network banks on the application of sanctions requirements in day-to-day business activities
  • Review and process transaction alerts related to sanctions screening and escalate findings where required
  • Identify and document potential sanctions breaches and support reporting obligations to relevant authorities
  • Contribute to the development of KYC-related standards linked to sanctions compliance
  • Support process improvements and contribute to initiatives involving compliance tools or new technologies

 

Your core competencies:

 

  • Relevant academic background in law, business administration, economics, or a similar field, or professional experience in banking, financial services, or a compliance-related function with exposure to banking products or processes such as payments, securities, or cash management
  • Knowledge of how to interpret and apply regulatory or legal requirements in an operational context
  • Experience working with multiple stakeholders in an international or cross-functional environment
  • English language skills to work in an international environment; ability to communicate in German to regulatory authorities and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to work with data, alerts, or case handling processes in compliance or operational systems
  • Openness to technological developments and current challenges in the banking sector, including topics such as AI and Machine Learning

 

Nice to Have:

 

  • Experience with sanctions, AML, or financial crime compliance topics
  • Knowledge of a Central or Eastern European language
