Optiver continues to expand across APAC, deepening its presence in China, broadening market access, and advancing strategies across its major business lines. For its growing cash markets businesses in China spanning equities, bonds, and related products Optiver is looking to add a Senior Corporate Strategy Manager in Shanghai.

You will take prime responsibility for corporate strategy across Optivers China cash markets footprint supporting strategic planning, ongoing business activities, and new growth initiatives with scope to contribute to broader Greater China strategy initiatives where relevant.

Through your expertise, network, and analytical judgment, you will seek to add value to our business in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders. You will work directly with senior business leaders across cash trading, corporate strategy, control functions, and external parties including regulators, stock exchanges, bond markets, self-regulatory organisations (SROs), industry leaders, and business partners.

 

WHAT YOU'LL DO: 

  • Monitor developments across cash equities, bonds, FX, and beyond, including market structure, industry trends, and relevant regulatory and policy changes informing the business for better decision making
  • Identify, assess, and help develop new business opportunities, partnerships, and growth areas through rigorous, fact-based analysis
  • Support the development and execution of corporate and business strategy initiatives aligned with Optivers Greater China priorities
  • Support ongoing business activities across cash market business lines, partnering with trading, control, and support functions as needed
  • Represent Optiver externally and build trusted relationships with regulators, exchanges, SROs, industry leaders, and business partners to strengthen communication, alignment, and trust
  • Prepare strategy papers, management presentations, and other materials for leadership discussions

 

WHO YOU ARE:

  • 8+ years of experience in business development, strategy, trading, or closely related roles in China cash market space, with deep understanding of cash equities, fixed income, and FX businesses and market structure in China
  • Proven experience building and maintaining senior industry relationships both internally and externally, including with regulators, exchanges, and market participants where relevant
  • Proven experience creating value through data-driven and fact-based strategic analysis on business opportunities, partnerships, and/or commercial outcomes
  • High integrity and sound judgment in sensitive stakeholder and regulatory contexts
  • Practical experience with modern productivity, data, and AI-enabled tools  comfortable using technology to improve the quality of your work and accelerate research, analysis, drafting, workflow improvement, and project delivery.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and commercially minded, with strong ownership and accountability
  • Proven ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver high-quality outcomes in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills ; fluency in English and Mandarin is required (spoken and written)
