Job Description


You join the Capital Markets department of the legal department of Natixis CIB. The Derivatives and Structured Finance team handles all legal matters relating to derivative transactions, repurchase agreements (repo) and securities lending, on various types of underlying assets, in coordination with teams based in Paris and London.

 

As an experienced paralegal (F/H), you support the team with recurring legal and documentary tasks that are standardized and essential to the proper functioning of the activity, particularly in the context of financing coverage operations. (in particular interest rate swaps covering financing of the type revolving credit facility and term loan).

 

You work under the supervision of the teams lawyers, with a key role in the fluidity, reliability, and operational monitoring of documentation.

 

On a daily basis, your tasks are to:

 

  • Manage new simple funding covers with support for documentation related to already signed funding; analyze the files according to defined legal and documentary criteria; ensure the processing of transactions that do not give rise to a substantial negotiation; identify discrepancies or non-standard points and escalate them to the relevant lawyers;
  • Deal with simple amendments, intervene in a standardized framework, based on predefined models, procedures and criteria and alert legal experts as soon as a substantive issue or a particular difficulty is identified;
  • Follow up on signatures and document execution with the coordination of signature circuits; ensure the proper monitoring of the execution of documentation; control the completeness of files and ensure the archiving and proper maintenance of documentary repositories;
  • Manage confidentiality agreements (NDAs) by implementing and monitoring them on the basis of approved templates; coordinate exchanges with internal and external interlocutors and escalate to lawyers any clause or non-standard request;
  • Coordinate the monitoring of legal opinions as well as their updating; update internal databases and repositories and liaise with internal and external stakeholders on these topics.

Required Skills/Qualifications/Experience

Holder of at least a 1-year masters degree in private law/business law, you have at least 10 years of experience in similar positions within a bank or law firm, with significant experience in banking and financial legal documentation, and ideally in derivatives and/or financing.

You master:
Document tracking and signature processes;
Legal documentation;
Issues related to the legal documentation of financing and/or derivatives;
Office tools and document management tools.

You have excellent interpersonal skills, a very good ability to listen; you are:
Rigorous, organized, versatile;
Recognized for your team spirit, reliability in execution and follow-up;
Appreciated for your interpersonal ease.

You are proficient in English with a minimum B2 level.
