About the opportunity

Customer Due Diligence is how N26 keeps millions of accounts safe and compliant without slowing down our customers' everyday banking. Our ambition is trust at scale: seamless compliance that operates continuously in the background, protecting the bank while keeping user friction to an absolute minimum. We build our core compliance infrastructure in-house, owning our orchestration, verification workflows, and AI automation rather than relying on off-the-shelf vendor limitations, and the group is now evolving from static onboarding checks to an intelligent, real-time lifecycle system. As Product Lead for Customer Due Diligence, you will own the end to end product vision and strategy across four critical domain streams: automated data collection (tax, address, AML questionnaire), AI-powered KYC operations, risk-based Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), and the ongoing Customer Identity Lifecycle (re-verification and eligibility). Working at the intersection of applied AI, financial crime regulations, and core product UX, you will lead the teams shipping capabilities that keep N26 fully compliant across Europe, without customers ever feeling the complexity behind it.

In this role, you will:

  • Own a capability area: Take full product ownership of a defined slice of the programme, for example Customer Identity Lifecycle, including its roadmap, delivery and outcomes.
  • Ground everything in evidence: Lead discovery on regulatory requirements and conversion rates; building problem statements from data, client voice and operational data rather than assumption.
  • Understand the regulatory landscape: Especially with the new regulations coming up such as AMLA, understand what is needed, and build a roadmap to achieve whats absolutely necessary to stay compliant.
  • Own your numbers: Instrument your area with your key metrics and the counter-metrics that prove prioritisation decisions. You should be able to defend every figure you present.
  • Work the interfaces: Collaborate with operations, MLROs, and peer product teams so that what you ship solves real problems.
  • Build for a regulated bank: Design compliance, auditability and client protection into every capability from the start. Own your audit findings and ensure timely closure.
  • Manage product & business managers: You will oversee a small team of PMs and Business & Steering Managers, owning their product roadmaps & strategies while growing and mentoring the team to deliver value.

What you bring:

  • Product Leadership & Impact: 6+ years in product management, including 2+ years in a product leadership role with at least one shipped product or major capability owned end-to-end, alongside a proven track record of managing, coaching, and mentoring PMs & Business Managers.
  • Domain Expertise in Regulated Environments: Deep experience operating within regulated fintech or banking environments, with direct domain exposure to KYC, AML, Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), or identity lifecycle systems.
  • Applied AI & Automation Experience: Demonstrated capability delivering in-house automation, internal operational tools, or applied AI/ML workflows that streamline complex operations while minimizing customer friction.
  • Regulatory Navigation & Governance: Proven ability to partner directly with MLROs, Compliance teams, Legal, and auditors: translating evolving regulatory frameworks (e.g., EU AML directives, AMLA) into scalable product roadmaps and closing audit findings.
  • Data Fluency & Strategic Rigor: High analytical rigor with a track record of instrumenting complex metric ecosystems (balancing conversion rates with counter-metrics like risk exposure and operational cost) to defend strategic decisions.
  • Executive Presence & Stakeholder Alignment: Exceptional written and verbal communication skills in English, with the versatility to influence executive leadership, align cross-functional stakeholders (Ops, Legal, Tech), and go deep with engineering teams.

Nice to have:

  • Hands-on experience scaling in-house verification workflows or identity orchestration systems across multiple European markets.
  • Background in operational process optimization and AI-driven case management tooling.

Whats in it for you:

  • Accelerate your career growth by joining one of Europes most talked about disruptors .
  • Employee benefits that range from a competitive personal development budget, work from home budget, discounts to fitness & wellness memberships, language apps and public transportation.
  • As an N26 employee you will have access to a Premium subscription on your personal N26 bank account. As well as subscriptions for friends and family members.
  • Additional day of annual leave for each year of service.
  • A high degree of autonomy and access to cutting edge technologies - all while working with a friendly team of peers of diverse nationalities, experiences, and backgrounds.
  • A relocation package with visa support for those who need it.
