Lead Product Manager - Conversational Banking

Department:Product - Assistance
Location:Berlin
Apply for this position
About the role Conversational Banking is how N26 scales support without scaling headcount at the same rate. Our ambition is banking as a non-event: clients get help in their channel and language of choice, and most issues resolve before a human agent ever needs to be involved. We build the intelligence in-house N26 owns its own orchestration and intelligence layer rather than renting it from vendors and the programme is now shifting from an assistant that answers questions to a system that acts on them. As Product Manager, you will own one of the highest-value capability areas within the programme end to end from discovery through delivery to measured resolution outcomes. You will work at the intersection of applied AI, banking operations and regulation, shipping capabilities that millions of clients across Europe use without thinking about them. That is the point. What you'll do
  • Own a capability area. Take full product ownership of a defined slice of the programme for example a set of high-volume client journeys or an agent-facing capability including its roadmap, delivery and outcomes.
  • Ground everything in evidence. Lead discovery on the contact drivers behind your area, building problem statements from real client voice and operational data rather than assumption.
  • Ship agentic capabilities. Work daily with engineering and applied AI teams to move journeys from answering to acting safe, autonomous resolution with the right guardrails and escalation paths.
  • Own your numbers. Instrument your area with resolution-first metrics and the counter-metrics that prove quality isn't traded for efficiency. You should be able to defend every figure you present.
  • Work the interfaces. Collaborate with operations, service partners and peer product teams so that what you ship lands in the real workflows of agents and back-office teams.
  • Build for a regulated bank. Design compliance, auditability and client protection into every capability from the start.

What good looks like after 12 months. Your capability area has a clear, delivered roadmap. The journeys you own resolve more client problems autonomously than they did a year ago, and you can prove it with quality metrics that hold up. Engineering, operations and design consider you the person who understands the problem best.
  What you bring
  • Three or more years in product management, with at least one shipped product or major capability you owned end to end.
  • Experience with AI-powered, conversational or automation products or a demonstrable, hands-on understanding of how LLM-based systems behave in production.
  • Strong analytical fluency: comfortable defining metrics, working directly with data, and separating signal from vanity.
  • The communication range to write clearly for executives and to go deep with engineers, in English.
  • Bias to evidence over opinion, and comfort operating with ambiguity in a fast-moving programme.
Nice to have
  • Experience in banking, fintech or another regulated industry.
  • Exposure to contact-centre operations, BPO environments or customer-service tooling.
  • Additional European languages, given our multi-market client base.
Why this role, now The segment has been newly formed and expanded, the platform foundations are proven, and the interesting work is just starting: taking journeys from containment to genuine autonomous resolution, on infrastructure the bank owns. You will join a small senior team with direct access to the programme's leadership and real ownership from day one. N26 is an equal opportunity employer. We celebrate diversity and are committed to an inclusive environment for all employees.
