Full Job Description

We're seeking someone to join our team as a Java Software Engineer in Firm Risk Management Department, who is fully hands on and will play a key role in implementation of the strategic initiative to modernize Market Risk platform at the same time handling BAU request and active participation on production support.

In the Technology division, we leverage innovation to build the connections and capabilities that power our Firm, enabling our clients and colleagues to redefine markets and shape the future of our communities. This is a Java Software Engineer position at Director level, which is part of the job family responsible for a function, complex project tasks and other initiatives.

What you'll do in the role:

  • Contribute to the function through complex project tasks and initiatives.

  • Interact regularly with team members located in different regions and occasionally with leadership on a range of topics.

  • Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, providing technical guidance and direction.

  • Architect solutions that meet performance, scalability, and security requirements.

  • Drive technical excellence through code reviews, design discussions, and knowledge sharing.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to define project roadmap and technical strategy.

  • Implement and advocate for best practices in software engineering and design patterns.

  • Contribute to the evaluation and adoption of new tools and technologies.

  • Maintain and enhance existing software applications to optimize performance and functionality.

  • Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and tools to drive innovation and continuous improvement.


What you'll bring to the role:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field.

  • 5+ years hands-on experience with Java, Spring, RDBMS.

  • Strong object oriented design and development skills, data-structures and algorithms, and design patterns.

  • Excellent analytical ability.

  • Strong experience with relational databases logical modelling.

  • Strength in querying large relational databases in an optimized manner.

  • A culture of incorporating unit test cases when designing systems using Junit.

  • Ability to write scripts in Shell/Python.

  • Strong collaboration and communication skills. The candidate will work in a global team where clear and concise communication skills are a must.

  • Work independently following proper coding standards.

  • Exposure to leveraging AI agents and automation tools across software development, validation, and production deployment.
