Full Job Description

The FXEM STIRT Strats team is responsible for designing and building models and tools that facilitate flow trading in interest rate swaps, FX swaps, cross-currency swaps, and futures and is seeking a highly motivated Strat at the Associate level in New York to support the STIRT desk.

Primary Responsibilities & Qualifications

  • Work closely with the trading desk to support existing and build the next generation of trading tools

  • Build outstanding e-Trading and custom mid-pricing models, quoting capabilities and franchise monetization models

  • Collaborate with Strats, IT, Risk, Finance, Ops, and COO office to deliver critical projects for the Bank

  • Present complex issues clearly, both verbally and in writing

  • Advanced degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics, Physics or Computer Science

  • Coding in Python and willing to learn Scala, q/kdb

  • Rigorous, organized, hands-on and willing to challenge the status quo

  • Knowledge of Fixed-Income Derivatives, curve building, signal generation, collateral and clearing are a strong plus

Expected base pay rates for the role will be between $150,000 - $200,000 per year for Associate at the commencement of employment. However, base pay if hired will be determined on an individualized basis and is only part of the total compensation package, which, depending on the position, may also include commission earnings, incentive compensation, discretionary bonuses, other short and long-term incentive packages, and other Morgan Stanley sponsored benefit programs.
