Skills and Competencies
  • At least 10 years of relevant work experience, primarily in financial entities
  • Strong knowledge of financial entities and transactions, with a focus on banking
  • Demonstrated analytical and financial modelling skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel is mandatory; working knowledge of Microsoft Word and PowerPoint required
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Ability to lead competing priorities and deliver results within deadlines
  • Ability to adapt to a changing environment and prioritize tasks accordingly
  • Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualifications in economics, accounting, engineering, business administration, statistics, or actuarial science

  • Professional certifications such as CFA, FRM, CAIA, or CQF are a plus but not mandatory
Responsibilities
Lead credit analysis for new and existing financial entity issuers across Colombia, mentoring junior analysts and driving the team's analytical excellence.
  • Conduct quantitative assessment of financial documents and economic and market data, as well as analysis of bond indentures, liquidity agreements, financial documents, and other legal documents and initial and ongoing credit analysis on a dedicated portfolio of financial entities and transactions
  • Actively supervise the portfolio and make recommendations for rating transitions in a timely fashion
  • Present credits efficiently and accurately in rating committees and other internal analytical meetings, formulate a coherent credit rationale, and present this rationale in a persuasive fashion
  • Demonstrate credit rating judgment as evidenced by the ability to distinguish among entities and transactions at different credit rating levels
  • Produce timely and relevant research on specific issuers, general credit trends, or sector-related issues that is in-depth, high quality, informative, and focused
  • Build and manage relationships with investors, advisors, and issuer and develop the Moody's Local franchise through intermediary marketing and transparency initiatives
  • Lead issuer meetings, including presenting key credit rating factors and asking probing questions that result in substantive dialogue about key credit issues
  • Mentor and develop junior analysts, fostering a culture of analytical rigor and professional growth

For US-based roles only: the anticipated hiring base salary range for this position is $211,300.00 - $314,350.00, depending on factors such as experience, education, level, skills, and location. This range is based on a full-time position. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for a completion bonus. Moodys also offers insurance and a discounted employee stock purchase plan for limited duration employees.
