Data Specialist

Skills and Competencies
- Experience in data remediation, data quality management, data validation, and enrichment activities within large and complex datasets
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify data inconsistencies, trends, and root causes of recurring issues
- Advanced Excel skills and experience using data analysis tools to validate, reconcile, and report on data quality metrics
- Working knowledge of SQL for data validation, querying, and reporting purposes
- Familiarity with Jira, Salesforce, Databricks, or similar platforms used to manage data remediation activities and client cases
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to maintain accuracy and consistency while managing high volumes of data
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across operations, product, technology, sales, and external data provider teams
- Demonstrated proficiency in artificial intelligence concepts, with hands-on experience using AI tools to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency. Proven ability to implement AI-powered solutions to solve business challenges. Demonstrates a growing awareness of AI risk management and a commitment to responsible and ethical AI use
Education
- Bachelors degree in Business, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Computer Science, Finance, Engineering, or a related field preferred
- Equivalent combinations of education, certifications, and relevant professional experience will be considered
- Exposure to SQL, Python, Databricks, data governance, or data quality management certifications is considered a plus
Responsibilities
- Review, correct, and enrich entity data to resolve inaccuracies, duplicates, and incomplete records
- Research and validate information using internal and external sources to ensure data accuracy and completeness
- Document remediation actions, decisions, and supporting rationale in accordance with established procedures
- Identify recurring data quality issues, trends, and patterns, and provide insights to support process improvements and quality standards
- Follow data governance, quality, and compliance requirements to maintain data integrity and support audit activities
- Create and maintain Jira tickets, documenting testing outcomes, remediation decisions, and supporting evidence
- Manage and follow up on client cases within Salesforce to ensure timely and effective issue resolution
- Collaborate with operations teams, Product Managers, Developers, Information Providers, and Sales teams to address data challenges and improve processes
- Prepare reports, dashboards, and status updates that communicate remediation outcomes and data quality improvements
- Leverage Excel, SQL, Databricks, Python, and approved AI tools to improve data validation, analysis, and remediation efficiency where applicable
- Maintain process documentation, reference materials, and operational manuals to reflect process changes and best practices
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to discussions related to production, technical issues, and continuous improvement opportunities
