Responsibilities
The Associate Economist 2 will support the Economics Center of Excellence by maintaining, enhancing, and documenting economic and demographic time series datasets used in Moody's Analytics products and research workflows, combining economic data expertise, analytical thinking, process improvement, and technology-enabled data operations.
  • Maintain and enhance historical, estimated, analytical, and value-added economic datasets used in client-facing products and internal research workflows
  • Administer economic time series databases to support accuracy, integrity, timeliness, completeness, and usability of managed datasets
  • Research the availability, structure, methodology, and reliability of economic, financial, demographic, and related data from public and licensed sources
  • Review, validate, and reconcile incoming data using analytical judgment, documented procedures, and appropriate quality control techniques
  • Develop, improve, and maintain repeatable data processes that increase productivity, reduce operational risk, and improve output quality
  • Create and maintain metadata, methodology notes, source documentation, and dataset descriptions that help clients and colleagues understand data content, coverage, transformations, and appropriate use
  • Support implementation of automation and AI-enabled solutions that improve data ingestion, validation, monitoring, documentation, and workflow efficiency
  • Collaborate with economists, data engineers, operations colleagues, technology partners, and other stakeholders to resolve data issues, support knowledge sharing, and contribute to special projects and workflow modernization initiatives
