- Strong technical background (preferably Java based software engineering)
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team with proven success at delivering complex engineering initiatives
- Product company experience with an understanding of how to build great products in an Agile environment
- Solid understanding of how to build scalable, maintainable and performant web applications
- Computer science education or equivalent experience
- Ability to communicate clearly with all levels of the organisation
- Writing code for multiple services, creating designs and reviewing PRs
- Experience with AI technologies including AI agents and related tools.
- Identifying and simplifying complex services and processes
- Exploring new technology and vendor capabilities that greatly benefit the team and clients
- Design and implementation of engineering initiatives across multiple teams and/or platforms
- Working with engineering leaders, product managers and other engineers to deliver solutions
- Ensuring high code quality, testing and security standards are a non-negotiable in the team culture
- Accountable for the reliability and uptime of the applications
- Participate in incident management and show ownership when there are problems in your space
- Running post-mortems and ensuring any actions are completed to ensure the applications are improving over time.
