Join our Regulatory Interpretations team within Macquarie's Commodities & Global Markets group, supporting our focus on accuracy and completeness of various derivatives reporting and other regulatory obligations globally. Our team works directly with business and operations functions to provide regulatory advice to support the continued improvement in processes, controls and regulatory risk awareness and culture across our businesses.

What role will you play?

As a subject matter expert, you will apply and develop your knowledge of various reporting and other regulatory rules and the different types of transactions carried out by our businesses. You will be continually learning about new business activities and advising on elements of global reporting and other rulesets applicable to them.

This role would be particularly suited to someone currently in a Legal or Compliance role who wants to practically apply regulatory and / or derivatives documentation experience to gain a high level of exposure to diverse derivatives business activity.

What you offer

  • Minimum 8 years of experience interpreting and applying derivatives regulations in a relevant capacity (e.g., Legal, Compliance, Regulatory Reporting) within the banking or financial services sector
  • Proven ability to assess reporting requirements across a wide range of products and asset classes, with experience in commodities and/or exchange traded derivatives (e.g., futures) considered beneficial
  • Strong analytical and stakeholder engagement skills, with the capability to work closely with global teams to evaluate how specific regulations apply to new or existing business activities
  • An understanding of how derivatives transactions are documented, and an ability to elucidate terms of derivative contracts based on confirmations and definitions would be considered beneficial
  • Demonstrated track record of driving consistent regulatory related change across global businesses, with high achievement drive, resilience, and tenacity
  • Innovative and collaborative mindset, with strong relationship building skills, a commitment to integrity, and a focus on maintaining productive connections across teams, business partners, operations, and industry networks
