Role summary

We are hiring in Penang, Malaysia! Our WorldCheck Lead Research Analyst plays a key role in maintaining accurate, highquality information to support the growth of LSEGs Content business across the region.

You will conduct indepth research on sanctionsrelated developments across Greater China. The role focuses on maintaining and updating a comprehensive set of sanctionsrelevant data, including sanctions ownership information, stateowned and stateinvested enterprises (SOE/SIE), among other highpriority categories.

What you'll be doing

  • Identify, extract, and summarize relevant intelligence in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Adhere closely to research guidelines and strict quality requirements to ensure the accuracy, consistency, and integrity of product content.
  • Provide content support to clients and collaborate closely with team members, internal stakeholders, and country researchers across offices on related adhoc projects.
  • Work independently to handle individual assignments while also contributing effectively to teambased tasks and results.

Role requirements

  • Native or full professional proficiency in Mandarin and English, as daily research and documentation are conducted in these languages.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and critical thinking.
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and regions.
  • Genuine curiosity in reading news, tracking current events, and maintaining familiarity with official and credible media sources.
  • Knowledge of local naming conventions (names, titles, salutations).
  • Understanding of Greater Chinas political systems, sanctions, law enforcement, and AML/CFT frameworks.
  • Demonstrate professionalism, including selfmotivation, a sense of ownership, a cando demeanor, innovative thinking, and a consistent drive for efficiency and quality.
  • Proven track record to lead, manage, and prioritize multiple tasks simultaneously while meeting timeline.
  • Preferably at least three years of meaningful work experience in research, compliance, or a related field.

Education Qualification/Certifications

  • Bachelors degree in International Relations, Political Science, History, Journalism, Linguistics/Languages, or other Humanities fields. Outstanding graduates from other disciplines, or candidates with relevant validated experience, will also be considered.
  • AMLrelated certifications will be prioritised when candidates are otherwise equally qualified.

This role is on blended work model, with 3 days working on the office and 2 days working remotely.
