Background

Were hiring a server side developer to join the Regulatory News Service team in Bucharest. For over 300 years,  the London Stock Exchange has produced detailed market information for companies and investors, technological innovations have transformed this service from a twice-weekly paper publication for the London business community to a continuous flow of electronic information to all the financial markets across the globe.

This role involves full lifecycle Agile development, including requirements analysis, estimation, design, coding, testing, and peer code reviews. Youll contribute to service improvement initiatives alongside development and support tasks, and coordinate with a range of technology and business partners. The position also requires setting up and running your development environment and supporting ad hoc duties aligned with team goals. Flexibility is a requirement, as release & change activities may occasionally occur outside standard working hours.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enhance the RNS product, through delivery of back-end solutions.

  • Develop and maintain front-end features using C# and java.

  • Collaborate in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, daily stand-ups, reviews, and retrospectives.

  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle using tools such as Jira, GitLab, Bitbucket, and Jenkins.

  • Support production releases and change planning activities, occasionally outside regular working hours.

  • Supporting diagnosis and resolution of production issues as needed.

  • Setup and maintenance of personal development and test environments.

  • Willingness to learn and develop using multiple programming languages.

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Business level proficiency in the English language written and verbal

  • Experience delivering enterprise level software using OO languages (C# or Java).

  • Experience and understanding of OO, MVC, REST.

  • Knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL & DynamoDB experience is advantageous)

  • Comfortable working in Agile environments with multi-functional teams.

  • Knowledge of git (eg Gitlab), source code control and branching/merging practices

  • Excellent communication and social skills.

Optional, preferred skills

  • A good working knowledge of AWS cloud services (DynamoDB, Redis, CloudFront, etc)

  • Experience with Docker and, or other Container tooling (Kubernetes, Anthos, AWS ECTS)

  • Knowledge and experience designing and coding with AWS Lambda

  • Knowledge and experience designing and coding with AWS API Gateway

  • Familiarity with automated testing frameworks such as Jasmine and Karma.
