Intern, Financial Accounting and Control

Position Summary

London Stock Exchange Groups Business Services division supports a wide network of global legal entities, giving you the opportunity to apply and expand your financial knowledge in a highly professional and supportive environment. As an Intern, Financial Reporting and Control, you will partner closely with a team lead to prepare, develop, and analyse financial information that enables senior leadership to make informed decisions that drive organisational stability, growth, and longterm performance.

Throughout your internship, you will gain exposure to the organisations full business model, strengthening your core accounting capabilities while collaborating across multiple business divisions. You will participate in structured rotations across key areas of responsibility, giving you diverse learning experiences and handson proficiency with globally recognised finance and reporting systems. You will also benefit from wellestablished operating processes and realworld application of accounting and reporting principles in a dynamic, highperformance environment.

Role Responsibilities

  • Manage endtoend financial transaction processing within the general ledger, subledgers, and reporting modules, ensuring all data is accurately captured, recorded, and verified.

  • Shadow experienced team members and support them with ongoing operational activities.

  • Prepare and validate balance sheet reconciliations.

  • Ensure compliance with group reporting policies and regulatory requirements.

  • Proactively identify and support continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Assist in preparing monthly or weekly financial reports as required.Design, update, and optimise spreadsheets, databases, and reporting solutions to enhance financial reporting efficiency.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Currently pursuing or at an early stage of a Finance degree or professional qualification (ACA, CIMA, ACCA).

  • Strong understanding of core accounting concepts and principles.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to build strong relationships with global colleagues.

  • Adaptability and willingness to learn in a fastpaced environment.

  • Effective oral and written communication skills tailored to the audience.

  • A strong sense of responsibility and commitment to teamwork.

  • High attention to detail with a focus on accuracy.

  • Willingness and ability to work according to UK working hours.

  • Strong planning and prioritisation skills aligned with business needs.
