Position Summary

The role involves the provision of first line application support for several equity and derivative markets operated by the London Stock Exchange PLC. The aim of the role is to proactively supervise and resolve known issues that may impact these services and to provide Proactive/Reactive support in a mission critical type environment. The is mostly suited to entry level candidates willing to embrace a fast paced and multifaceted but balanced and work pattern, which would include covering on-site shifts during out of office hours based on a roster.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding to incidents in a timely manner carrying out known workarounds and resolving them.

  • If necessary, escalate issues to DevOps Teams as and when needed.

  • Researching Incidents, providing workarounds create articles and resolutions or diverting to alternative resolver groups when necessary.

  • Ensuring customer experience goals are met.

  • Work in an environment where IT Service Management Processes such as Incident, Problem and Change Management procedures needs to be adhered.

  • Keeping the relevant teams advised on the progress of their issue or problem.

  • Provide Left shift support for L2 teams by supporting Incident resolutions, Automation tasks, Deployments, Change Management tasks, Cloud Cost and Compliance Management tasks etc.

Preferred Skills and Experience

  • Bachelors degree in computer engineering, IT, or related field.

  • 1-2 years of experience in similar role is preferred

  • Experience in ISTM/AWS cloud-based environment will be an added advantage.

  • Having an understanding on application support with some exposure to Unix based operating systems, Business critical applications, enterprise monitoring tools.

  • Having the ability to run with projects/issues solo as well as work in a team environment.

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and synthesizing skills. Willingness to work for different working hours (UK Shift)
