JOB TITLE:  Lead UX Designer - 12 Month FTC

SALARY: 78,098 - 91,880

LOCATION(S): Edinburgh

HOURS: Full Time 

WORKING PATTERN: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at one of our office sites. Colleagues with disabilities can be supported with workplace adjustments including hybrid working expectations in line with our Flexibility Works policy. 

What youll be doing

Were looking for someone to lead and work as part of a design team supporting a core product area within Experience Design They will give guidance to partners, development teams and other Interaction Designers, working alongside and leading a design team. They will take full ownership of their output, providing rationale for design decisions and confidently present their work back to internal customers.

  • Shape and implement experience strategy for the product area

  • Having a deep understanding of customer needs, problems and expectations

  • Understand goals and challenges in the context of business and engineering priorities

  • Work with service designers to influence and develop the roadmap and overall product strategy

  • Engage with leadership to understand objectives and opportunities aligned to good customer outcomes

  • Provide leadership to a team of multi-disciplinary designers to support decision-making, delivery and team culture

  • Establish a growth culture and build capabilities through the formal development and mentoring of team members

  • A minimum 8 years demonstrable experience within User Experience design/Interaction Design

  • Experience of leading teams, inspiring, with the ability to rally teams and partners around ambitious goals

  • Strong people negation skills

  • Exceptional communicator, able to share ideas and successes in compelling, engaging ways.

  • A strong strategic vision that aligns well to the overall business strategy
