Our Benefits team evaluates, manages, and implements changes across multiple benefit programs (e.g., medical, dental, vision, life insurance, long-term disability). The team also monitors plan performance, regulatory developments, and marketplace trends, and partners on the design and delivery of the firms wellness initiatives. Our U.S. medical and wellness programs serve more than 180,000 employees.

As a Vice President on the U.S. Benefits Design and Strategy team, you will blend strategy, analytics, and hands-on execution to evaluate, launch, measure, and scale U.S. healthcare initiatives and innovations aimed at improving employee health outcomes and the healthcare experience.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Define and monitor metrics to measure the performance and effectiveness of benefits offerings and initiatives; ensure consistent methodologies and enable objective comparison of financial and clinical outcomes across vendors and programs
  • Lead the annual healthcare cost projection cycle in partnership with actuarial consultants; build a comprehensive understanding of cost drivers and trends, design and model strategic scenarios, and present data-driven recommendations to senior leadership
  • Operationalize approved rate changes by ensuring accurate configuration and loading across Finance systems (internal cost management) and Benefits administration systems (employee contributions) for annual enrollment
  • Research and evaluate ad hoc benefits offerings and program enhancements; quantify value, define success measures, and prepare materials for senior leadership review and approval
  • Analyze healthcare data sets, including medical claims, to generate insights on program and plan performance; partner with plan managers to develop strategies and recommendations, and prepare presentations summarizing findings and proposed actions
  • Manage cross-functional deliverables with internal and external stakeholders; interpret reporting and financials; support risk/compliance efforts and plan audits; and drive operational excellence
  • Collaborate with partners across benefits data and reporting, benefits delivery and customer service, wellness, finance, HR technology, IT security, legal, and sourcing

Required Qualifications, Capabilities, and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree required
  • 6+ years (or progressively responsible experience) in corporate benefits, benefits consulting, or health plan/health insurance field; experience in strategic, metric-driven roles, with a particular focus on self-insured actuarial and financial analysis
  • Deep understanding of the healthcare marketplace, along with a demonstrated track record of deep and thoughtful analysis of the healthcare marketplace, as it relates to large employer plans
  • Builders mindset that experiments, measures, learns, and iterates, bringing fresh, practical approaches to solve complex problems
  • Ability to effectively lead and collaborate across internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple deliverables simultaneously
  • Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills, including strong presentation skills and a high level of attention to detail

  • Large firm experience (50,000+ employees)
  • Experience working in corporate benefits, with a particular focus on strategy and analytics, is strongly preferred
  • Progress toward or completion of actuarial exams, with an Associate of the Society of Actuaries (ASA) or Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA) designation preferred
