As a Software Engineer III at JPMorgan Chase within Asset and Wealth Management, you will be required to apply deep knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, share your knowledge with others, and partner continuously with stakeholders to stay focused on common goals. You will work in a collaborative, trusting, thought-provoking environmentone that encourages diversity of thought and creative solutions that are in the best interests of our customers globally. 

 

Job responsibilities

  • Designs, develops, and maintains scalable and efficient software applications and systems for AI projects. 
  • Collaborates with various teams and other engineers to understand requirements and deliver solutions. 
  • Implements and optimizes algorithms and models for AI applications. 
  • Writes clean, maintainable, and well-documented code. 
  • Participates in code reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers. 
  • Troubleshoots and resolves software defects and issues. 
  • Stays up-to-date with the latest advancements in AI and software development technologies. 
  • Contributes to the continuous improvement of development processes and best practices. 
  • Leverages enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools within the work environment to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity across complex deliverables (e.g., code generation/refactoring, unit test creation, documentation), while validating outputs through peer review, automated testing, and secure coding standards; contributes learnings and reusable patterns to improve broader team effectiveness.
  • Applies knowledge of tools within the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve the value realized by automation.

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years applied experience
  • Strong programming skills in languages such as Python, Nodesjs. 
  • Experience with AI/ML frameworks and libraries (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch ). 
  • Familiarity with AWS and containerization technologies (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes). 
  • Solid understanding of software development methodologies and best practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. 
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills. 
  • Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools within the work environment (e.g., for coding, test creation, troubleshooting, or documentation) with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
  • Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity considerations, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations; ability to guide peers on safe and effective usage within team practices.

  • Experience with natural language processing, computer vision, or other AI domains.
