As a Credit Officer, Director at JP MorganCase within the Wealth Management Credit Risk team, you will identify, measure, manage, and monitor credit risk across global businesses. You will approve new and existing extensions of credit within delegated authority and manage a portfolio of credit exposures within established risk appetite, partnering closely with bankers, product partners, control functions, and senior risk leadership.

Based in Geneva, Switzerland, you will provide credit risk coverage for clients and transactions in Dubai and Switzerland, ensuring consistent application of credit standards, governance, portfolio oversight, and risk management practices. You will analyze credit opportunities, structure transactions, negotiate and review terms, conduct due diligence, and identify key risks for counterparties, issuers, and clients. You will also drive strategic initiatives, support innovation and transformation efforts, and mentor junior credit officers to strengthen risk management practices and support business objectives.

Job responsibilities

  • Approve new and existing credit risk exposures relating to the Global Private Bank client base within authorized limits.
  • Ensure credit exposure is structured, documented and approved in accordance with JPMorgan Credit Policy.
  • Assess risks and mitigants, balance risk and reward, and manage renewals, amendments, and new transactions to maintain strong credit metrics.
  • Monitor portfolio, work with integrated team to understand issues, approve resolution plans, and escalate potential problems immediately.
  • Form and communicate independent, well-supported views to partners and senior leadership.
  • Collaborate proactively with internal and external stakeholders to advance transactions.
  • Mentor and coach team members, contribute to team culture, and participate in improvement initiatives.
  • Demonstrate excellent communication skills to solve problems and influence outcomes.

  • Identify and monitor concentrations, trends, and themes in the portfolio.
  • Drive key projects and strategic initiatives to help close gaps, enhance existing processes, and improve risk management.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Extensive experience in banking or lending with expertise in credit analysis (including balance sheet and cash flow analysis) and structuring complex transactions including securities-based lending, specialty lending, mortgages and derivatives.

  • Proven ability to analyze credit structures, make informed decisions, and mitigate credit risks.

  • Experience and familiarity approving credit transactions.

  • Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills with strong attention to detail.

  • Ability to work effectively and respectfully with others to foster an inclusive environment.

  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, and project management skills with ability to manage competing priorities.

  • Intellectual curiosity and ability to learn quickly.
