As a Payroll Specialist at JPMorganChase within the German Payroll team in Frankfurt, youll help execute end-to-end payroll operations, support compliance with tax and employment requirements, and use data to identify and resolve issues. Youll collaborate across functions, communicate clearly with stakeholders, and help improve the quality and efficiency of payroll processes. We offer fixed-term contract for 12 months. 

Job responsibilities

  • Execute in-house end-to-end payroll processing activities in line with established controls and timelines
  • Review, validate, and reconcile payroll inputs/outputs to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Apply German payroll tax and employment law knowledge to help ensure compliant processing and decision-making
  • Investigate payroll exceptions and employee inquiries, providing clear, timely, customer-focused responses
  • Prepare analysis and reporting using Excel; communicate insights and recommendations to stakeholders
  • Support payroll accounting activities, including reconciliations and issue resolution
  • Partner with internal teams and external providers to resolve operational items and improve service delivery
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of payroll procedures, documentation, controls, and automation

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of in-house end-to-end payroll processes using SAP, payroll tax and employment laws, and payroll accounting
  • Experience supporting payroll operations for Germany in a multi-country environment
  • Apply advanced Excel skills to analyze and reconcile multiple data points and clearly present findings
  • Communicate fluently in German and English, with a strong customer focus and ability to explain complex payroll processes or decisions to varied audiences
  • Advanced Excel skills and solid command of Microsoft Office
  • Organize and prioritize deliverables effectively for yourself and the team
  • Maintain high attention to detail and perform effectively under pressure and tight deadlines
  • Build strong partnerships with colleagues across the firm and external partners
  • Adapt quickly to changes in procedures, processes, and systems

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Experience with endtoend German payroll, including statutory reporting using SAP
  • Experience in payroll audits and controls
