Your expertise in various network technologies and standards will be counted on to troubleshoot, identify, and solve complex and mission critical problems internally and externally. The ideal candidate must have knowledge of, or be willing to learn, scripting languages (e.g. Python) required for the development of automations that will contribute to the improvement of our network support structure.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Primary point of contact to support incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationship, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management and service evolution.
  • Support administrative functions required to deliver infrastructure inclusive of planning, tracking, ordering, reporting, and consumption  
  • Execute the day to day duties of their function and to define and drive MIS requirements to support and improve the business processes they support  
  • Act as primary customer interface for day to day issues and queries. 
  • Leadership skills, emerging in management, Example : Team Leader.
  • Accountable for incident, problem, change management, risk, vendor and client relationship, internal and external communications, service delivery, lifecycle management and service evolution  
  • Responsible for coaching and mentoring less experienced team members as well as overall team management responsibilities, development of organizational functional goals, priorities and service objectives aligning with the overall GTI strategy 
  • Assists management in performing performance appraisals.
  • Ability to create original documentation as well as update existing 
  • Acts independently and leverages critical thinking 
  • Point of escalation for 40x, 50x and 60x level team members.
  • Advocates for customer base when faced with Infrastructure or Business Critical issues.
  • Ability to articulate and share clear, concise complex technical findings to management in understandable terms and ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals.
  • This position will involve day to day incident and problem management of major impacting data issues globally, proactive infrastructure management. The candidate will be the Subject Matter Expert in any 2-3 Technologies attending bridge calls, address tickets, and work hand in hand with the GNS Tier 4/PE organizations on items such as bug fixes, design changes, and code upgrades.

    Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • BE/BS degree or equivalent with 10 Years of relevant experiences.
  • Experience in Network Operation production and infrastructure support. Understand Network infrastructure components and how they are tracked and managed in various systems.
  • Proficiency in more than one specific infrastructure technology.
  • Knowledge of risk and controls landscape, ensuring company-wide standards are met.
  • Proven experience managing various large-scale enterprise network topologies including Routing & Switching (LAN, WAN - Cisco ASR/GSR/Nexus), Datacenter Technologies (Nexus, ASR, VXLAN, Cisco ACI, Arista Fabric), Wireless (Cisco Prime), Network Security & Services (Firewall Fortinet/Check Point), F5 Load Balancers (LTM, GTM, ASM), Proxy (Blue Coat), Optical Transport (Cisco/Ciena), Etc. Certifications in these areas preferred.
  • Expert in Multicast, low latency networks, and market data related technologies.
  • Strong experience in Protocol Analyzers (Cpacket, BigSwtich, Wireshark, Riverbed).
  • Strong experience in capacity/monitoring management tools (Splunk, SevOne, ThousandEyes).
  • Ability to use (or learn) scripting languages such as Python, Ansible, etc.
  • Experience working in a Linux environment
  • Strong communication skills - written and verbal.
  • Strong work ethic in a mission-critical 24x7 diverse environment with multiple vendor/customer relationships.
  • Must be flexible, hands on and able to work in a fast paced, high pressure, client-focused and collaborative environment.
