As a Lead Infrastructure Engineer at JPMorganChase within the Corporate Sector of the Infrastructure Platforms team, you apply deep knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Continue to evolve your technical and cross-functional knowledge outside of your aligned domain of expertise.
Job responsibilities
- Applies technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to projects of moderate scope and executes creative solutions for design, development, and technical troubleshooting for problems of moderate complexity
- Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and design documentation, validating outputs and handling operational data according to sensitivity and security requirements.
- Drives a workstream or project consisting of one or more infrastructure engineering technologies and works with other platforms to architect and implement changes required to resolve issues and modernize the organization and technology processes
- Strongly considers upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications and advises on mitigation actions
- Applies reuse-first, AI-assisted practices within delivery and automation routines to identify recurring issues and validate remediation options, ensuring changes are traceable/auditable and aligned to resiliency and security expectations.
- Architects and maintains VMware infrastructure including vSphere, vCenter, ESXi hosts, Horizon, Workspace ONE, App Volumes, and Dynamic Environment Manager
- Administers and optimizes Red Hat Open Shift container platforms, including cluster setup, scaling, and CI/CD pipeline integration
- Leads automation initiatives using Shell scripting, Terraform, and Ansible to streamline provisioning, patching, and monitoring workflows
- Supports and troubleshoots Linux (RHEL, Ubuntu, CentOS) and Windows Server environments in virtualized and bare-metal deployments
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on network setup, firewall rules, storage configurations, and compliance requirements
- Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 5+ years applied experience
- Deep knowledge of one or more areas of infrastructure engineering such as: hardware, networking terminology, databases, storage engineering, deployment practices, integration, automation, scaling, resilience or performance assessments
- Deep expertise in VMware technologies and OpenShift administration.
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Ansible, Bash, YAML).
- Experience with Linux and Windows OS management, patching, and monitoring.
- Experience in administering Active Directory, DHCP, DNS services
- Experience with microservices architecture, event-driven systems, CI/CD tools (Jenkins, GitHub Actions), telemetry platforms (Grafana, Splunk), DevOps automation, and infrastructure-as-code using tools like Terraform, and Ansible.
- Experience in Tier 3 data center operations including air gap connectivity, patching strategies, and audit preparation.
- Demonstrated experience using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.
- Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before implementation, escalating when uncertain and ensuring outcomes align to resiliency, security, and auditability expectations.
- Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
- Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
- Practical cloud native experience
