As a Infrastructure Engineer II at JPMorgan Chase within the Corporate Sector Infrastructure Platforms, you develop knowledge of software, applications, and technical processes within the infrastructure engineering discipline. Through this work you begin to apply your proficiency in a single application or technical methodology.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Applies technical knowledge to assignments with a defined scope, including testing infrastructure performance, verifying requirements were met, and collecting and analyzing monitoring data in test and production through completion

  • Drives results, collects and analyzes monitoring data in test and production, and sees assignments through to completion

  • Uses enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to accelerate infrastructure analysis and documentation (e.g., summarizing monitoring findings), validating outputs and handling data according to sensitivity and security requirements.

  • Carries out day to day work assignments with some guidance and within documented parameters, developing considerations for upstream and downstream data and systems or technical implications

  • Escalates issues to appropriate leadership

  • Develops considerations for upstream/downstream data and systems or technical implications

  • Adds to team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect

 

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

  • Formal training or certification on infrastructure engineering concepts and 2+ years applied experience 

  • Working knowledge of using enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within the work environment to support infrastructure engineering workflows with strong validation habits and awareness of data sensitivity.

  • Ability to review and validate AI-assisted recommendations before use, escalating when uncertain and following security and data handling expectations.

  • Own day-to-day administration of CA View and CA Spool in a JES2 z/OS environment (STCs, PROCs, PARMLIB members, runtime libraries).

  • Configure and maintain JES2 SYSOUT capture/selection, routing, and retention rules (output classes/forms/DEST, report identification and indexing).

  • Manage JES2 writer/output queue integration to ensure reliable report capture, archival, online viewing, and distribution/printing where used.

  • Troubleshoot missing/late/duplicate reports, writer stalls, spool saturation, class routing issues, and CA View/Spool task abends; deliver RCA and fixes.

  • Perform SMP/E maintenance (HOLDDATA review, APPLY/ACCEPT PTFs) and execute upgrades with validation and rollback plans.

  • Implement and administer security controls (RACF/ACF2/TSS): report access profiles, command controls, auditing, and least-privilege roles.

  • Monitor and tune performance/capacity (spool growth, repository utilization, backlogs, CPU/IO impacts) and enforce retention/cleanup to prevent outages; Maintain operational runbooks and DR procedures, and participate in DR tests and change management for all CA View/Spool configuration changes.

  • General knowledge of one specific infrastructure technology and moderate proficiency in relevant scripting languages (e.g., Scripting, Python, etc.); Experience with cloud technologies with the ability to operate in and migrate across public and private clouds
