Join JPMorganChase's India Branch Market Operations team and take ownership of fixed income and money market settlement. You will manage daily desk operations, partner with internal teams, hubs, and technology partners, and drive accurate and timely trade settlement. This role offers strong exposure to Indian market infrastructure, regulatory engagement, and process improvement for an experienced operations professional ready to make an impact.
As a Senior Bonds Settlement and Fixed Income Operations Associate in India Branch Market Operations, you will manage the fixed income and money market desk with a strong focus on controls and regulatory compliance. You will work with internal teams, global hubs, and technology partners to resolve issues, own regulatory reporting, and contribute to process improvements. This role requires sound product knowledge, strong stakeholder relationships, and a proactive approach to controls and team development.
Job responsibilities
- Manage the fixed income and money market desk, ensuring accurate and timely settlement with no audit observations.
- Oversee nostro break management, ensuring breaks are identified, investigated, and resolved within agreed timelines.
- Coordinate with internal teams, global hubs, business partners, and technology teams for smooth trade settlement and issue resolution.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, regulators including The Clearing Corporation of India Limited, and internal stakeholders.
- Own regulatory reporting obligations, ensuring timely and accurate submissions to relevant authorities.
- Monitor regulatory changes and circulars, coordinating with hubs and technology teams to implement required updates.
- Identify and drive process improvements to resolve bottlenecks and improve efficiency.
- Guide and develop team members, promoting a controls-focused and solutions-oriented culture
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in fixed income and money market settlement operations within a financial institution.
- Strong knowledge of fixed income and money market products, settlement processes, and regulatory requirements.
- Strong understanding of India regulatory requirements, including The Clearing Corporation of India Limited settlement and reporting processes and The Foreign Exchange Dealers Association of India guidelines.
- Experience managing regulatory reporting obligations to Indian regulatory authorities.
- Strong stakeholder management skills, with the ability to coordinate across internal teams, hubs, and external partners.
- Strong controls mindset with the ability to identify risks and ensure team adherence to regulatory and internal standards.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience with process improvement or system enhancement initiatives in a settlement operations environment.
- Familiarity with settlement systems and technology platforms used in fixed income operations.
