Take on a senior leadership role at the center of JPMorganChase's Greater China Cash Operations. You will set the regional operating strategy, lead multi-site teams, and work closely with product, technology, risk, and compliance to deliver resilient, well-controlled cash operations. This role suits a leader who combines strong operational depth with sound business judgement and the ability to bring teams together around a clear direction.
As the APAC Cash Operations Lead, Greater China within Payments Operations, you will have end-to-end accountability for the leadership, governance, and performance of cash operations across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan. You will set strategic direction, define the operating model, and drive improvements in client experience, efficiency, and controls in line with local and global regulatory standards. You will represent operations at regional forums and governance committees, partnering with product, coverage, technology, and risk and compliance leadership. You will also develop your team, own succession planning, and manage the budget with a focus on sustainable, controlled growth.
Job responsibilities
- Set the strategic direction for Greater China Cash Operations and translate it into a clear operating model across locations.
- Define and evolve location strategy, capacity planning, skills mix, and resiliency design to balance cost, control, and service quality.
- Ensure accurate, timely, and reliable processing aligned to service levels, client expectations, and product commitments.
- Drive continuous improvement in turnaround times, quality, inquiry resolution, and root-cause elimination using structured methods such as Lean and process re-engineering.
- Own the risk and control environment, including process-level controls, issue management, operational risk events, and control testing readiness.
- Ensure compliance with local and global regulatory obligations, including payment schemes, data handling, record retention, and sanctions and anti-money laundering requirements.
- Partner with technology and operations teams to shape and deliver the operations technology roadmap, including automation, workflow tools, and controls digitization.
- Lead adoption of new platforms and processes, ensuring effective change management, training, and stabilization.
- Build and retain a high-performing team through clear accountability, succession planning, capability development, and inclusive performance management.
- Represent Greater China Cash Operations at regional forums, governance committees, and working groups.
Own budget planning, headcount allocation, and productivity goals, delivering efficiency improvements while maintaining control standards.
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Bachelor Degree
- Minimum 15 years of experience in cash or treasury services operations, with substantial leadership experience in a regional or multi-site environment.
- Strong working knowledge of payments, deposits, and liquidity-related products and operating flows, including operational dependencies and controls.
- Demonstrated track record of leading large operational teams with measurable outcomes in quality, controls, client experience, and efficiency.
- Sound business acumen, with the ability to connect operational performance to commercial outcomes and business growth.
- Proven ability to lead complex change, including technology-enabled transformation and operating model shifts.
- Strong background in operational key performance and key risk indicator design, monitoring, and reporting.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage and align senior stakeholders across functions.
- Experience in a regulated environment with strong discipline in risk management, governance, and audit readiness.
Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
- Experience leading operations across Hong Kong, Mainland China, and Taiwan, with understanding of local regulatory and market requirements.
- Familiarity with payment rails, clearing changes, and messaging standards relevant to Greater China markets.
- Experience driving automation and straight-through processing improvements in a cash or payments operations environment.
- Experience managing vendor relationships and service delivery in a multi-site operations model.
